Im lucky, hubby doesnt really care regarding furnishing, I have a pink bedroom Laura Ashley Tatton mainly with plain pink throw. I tend to go for white linen because then I can just replace them when they go a bit tatty without having to change curtains, throws, cushions etc. Sitting room is flowers - Laura Ashley Portland in a pale blue. Here are a few cross stitch samplers that I have done. Still have a rag rug half finished and numerous other things on the go that wont see the light of day until the nights draw in
.
Is anyone else into embroidery or cross stitch. Quite fancy having a go at lace making but havent had the time to learn how might look for a class in the Autumn.
I really love buying for my 3 year old girl, her bedroom is gorgeous! Proper little girls paradise, pink, flowers, hearts everywhere, even a little garland of roses across mantelpiece I intertwined with fairy lights, I would have chopped my hand off for that room as a 3 year old!
Hi everyone, so sorry for such late reply, had long weekend with the in laws visiting and then yesterday it took me all night just to post a couple of pics on one of the other threads Not a happy bunny but reading all your messages really cheered me up so THANK YOU
Thank you Lily for your message, really interesting and informative, think I'll just stick to day dreaming unless I can move next door to you! Beau who is 20 months would love it with all your woofies My sister like your OH got carried away with rescue dogs and had 5 up until a few months ago but sadly 3 passed away earlier this year (old age )
What breeds are your dogs?
How amazing to have woods of your own, I can't wait to see pics
How is the weather right now, we have mini heat wave which is Lovely
Hi rose mummy your house sounds wonderful and like me got a 101 projects on the go! We live in an Edwardian terrace of 8 cottages that are all still with same original frontage and painted black and white. I do love it but hope to move to the dream forever house one day We have painted all our bedroom furniture, well thats the royal we as I have all the ideas and then my poor OH gets the job! I am lucky how he puts up with me as I am forever reading interior magazines and watching the interior and gardening programmes and changeling everything all the time I loved the great interior challenge and brought the book and loved the winner you spoke of Sarah Moore and brought her books too much to OH dismay If you are still looking for the roller please let me know and I'll look it up for you where to get it from.
Your little girls room sounds lovely, all your home sounds lovely, will you be able to show us some pics?
today I'm gonna pick some flowers and display in some of the jam jars I've been saving and that will distract me from the dust! Hmmm that will mean a lot of jar filling as a lot of dust distracting!
Morning everyone, great conversations here Just catching up.
Beaus Mum, I would love to see how you arrange the flowers you cut from your garden, which containers and so on, often feel at a loss to show them at their best. Sweetpeas, from earlier Garden posts (VictoriaSponge), always look lovely, and read somewhere recently that achemilla mollis looks good with roses ( apologies to whoever posted - must check ) so that's a start for me!
Yviestevie your samplers are beautiful, I would never have the patience to do myself but wish I did. The designs are gorgeous and it must be lovely to see the the pictures come together so beautifully as you make each stitch
I too have Laura Ashley paper in my bedroom, always buy when in sale mind you
I don't remember the name of it but like a silvery damask on one wall and the willow one on another wall, I like to mix and match Trying to get the French look
We have a loft room where on the main wall behind the bed I have A patchwork of all the papers from Laura Ashley and really love it. Can't say my OH loved it when I came up with that idea and he had to make it happen
Looking at your profile I see you live near my in laws! Although OH tells me your area is very nice and his family are near Merry Hill, Brierly Hill which is not so nice but has fantastic shops
Good morning BizzieB, so glad you are liking this thread
Hoping to exchange lap top later today as having a nightmare posting pics etc
If we get sorted I will def post pics. I warn you though my flower arranging skills are non existant and will be mostly single blooms in strategic places to distract from lack of dusting, far too hot for housework
Ive not seen Victoria sponges sweet peas today Do you know which thread they are on?
no worries if not as will have a look through later I love sweet peas, they smell devine! Wish a company could bottle it Even the expensive companies like Yankee candles don't manage it
Watched an item on the Hampton court series the other week where a rose farmer distilled the unsold roses into rose water, wonder if it would work on sweet peas? Wonder how much a distiller machine would cost? Sorry lots of wondering
