Good morning everyone, just catching up - tablet recharged, I'm refreshed, garden looks happy after the rain and I'm about to go to the allotment to check on things before it gets hot again.
Thank you for your message Beaus Mum kind of you to reply after your busy time in the garden.
There is much to read properly when I get back, enjoy your day everyone
Hope you had good days and hopefully bit cooler for you
Today I've been over to my mums tidying her front garden and best job was harvesting all her lavender and even better she didn't want it so I have come home with the lot! And even bigger bonus the car now smells amazing!
A busy day, much cooler now and my time is now my own so feet up, a refreshing cup of tea and read the comments properly. More coming soon: as they say
BM, that is Stock in the jug, the painting behind the Sweet Peas of Phlox dates from, I think, Edwardian times and I'm not quite that old so it isn't one of mine
Hello SFord your growing flowers on your allotment intrigues me. It's all veg where I share a plot but would love to grow flowers to cut and for pollinators.
My plot is on a windy site and very open, the ground needs clearing so plenty of time to plan.
It just looks so vast after a small garden.
I'd appreciate any advice on pros and cons for growing flowers.
Thank you artjak, star gaze lily and Yviestevie for your compliments on the pond
Yviestevie my original pond was the same size as yours, although I didn't have that nice edging stone. Practicalities came into extending it as it was too close to the fences so maintenance would be a problem.
The plants make a big difference this year, getting established. Two water lilies came and went, the usual pond life came from nowhere, damsel flies flit about and yesterday this dragonfly keeps zooming round the garden but not settling for long
it's the green by the stones, have other photos but they are more blurry.
Just had a catch up, love the various pictures and jugs, vases and picture frames.
I have some sunflowers in a lovely Mediterranean style jug at the moment. The other day I broke the lid off the teapot, so I now have a nice white teapot with no lid that tomorrow will be filled with basil I'll post a pic when it's done, is that shabby chic?
