I gave up doing flowers in vases cos the cats always seemed to think they were for playing with so we had sevral accidents. Possum is 19 and I haven't done an Easter tree since she was about 9 or 10 so no pics, sorry. Funnily enough I've just been sorting in the attic and came across our Easter decs box which can go to Oxfam now.
I was at a flea market in Maastricht on Saturday and very nearly bought an old enamel bucket which had a floral pattern picke dout in thin blue lines. Very pretty. And then I started thinking about how to use a bright green enamelled colander thingy as a planter but OH dragged me away.
I shall just have to see what's going in the local street markets when he isn't looking and when we go to France next month.........
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I know how that is with cats and vases! I've got 2 and they bite all the heads off the flowers given half a chance! But they don't like our dog so I put the flowers in where he is now ie dining room and kitchen and touch wood no more vase casualties
Are you saying your Easter decs are ten years old? Might be valuable
How exciting to go to France and hope you tell us all about it when you come home Did you see the tv prog when they went to French markes andbrought stuff then had to sell to make a profit when they came home? It was pretty poor butwas good insight to all the good French markets to go see
Colinders were part of my French enamel addiction and I got OH to stringtogether to make a veg hanging thing which looks dead cute but I never use
Beaus Mum, where on earth do you keep all those mags! I keep twelve months worth the others get passed on to different people, I hate giving them away but I really dont know where I'd put them all. I have bought seeds for sunflowers for next year so I'll keep my eyes out for a jug like Artjaks. I too spend a fortune on feeding the birds so I wont feel guilty about picking a few if they grow. I seem to have had every sparrow in the west midlands visit me today the noise was terrific and then silence. A sparrow hawk visited me and sat on the fence for about 4 minutes. He flew off and you could have heard a pin drop in the garden for at least an hour. Im also getting a lot of blackbirds at the moment as the rowan tree has berries and they seem to love them. This afternoon when I was sitting down in the garden next to the bird bath a very big wood pidgeon came along and sat in it soaking his feet, you could just see the look of relief on his face he stayed there for ages.
Don't ask Yviestevie I have book case, huge coffee table trunk thing and cupboards and bedside tables I could never throw away and have no who are interested. I might drop some at yours when I vist the in laws next
Did you know they did goodnags of seed in the pound shop?
i too love the birds and think they are clever and know who spoils them and come back all the time Think I would be well scared if had seen a sparrow hawk! We have Red kites here in the Chilterns which circle all around but never seen one up close thankgoodness. Bet your wood pigeon was well cute to watch. They are so funny, we had one we named Sylvia who had broken her wing, we tried calling bird help type places but they couldn't help so my OH taped it up best he could and we had her a good three weeks till she sadly and suddenly passed away. Did you see the pics of my baby robins on the blackbird nest thread? Oh how I lovehim
As for jug ill keep my eye out too for you, I'm pretty good at finding them Old addictions die hard!
If we are still talking about shabby chic, this is a cheap Ikea kitchen stool I painted a while back; I like Cath Kidston's designs, but the colours are a bit too...well, pink for me
When I worked in the United Arab Emirates in the mid nineties the only cotton sheets (as opposed to polyester - far too hot) were cheap Chinese ones which were exactly like Cath Kidston ones, but probably poorer quality.
Also, forgive me if I have posted this before, I found this in a charity shop a fe
w months ago, a tapestry fire screen of Anne Hathaways cottage. It was probably done in the 1930's. When I dismantled it to clean the inside of the glass I found the design was by 'PENNY' which I think was a well known brand of tapestry design.
