Obelix, that box/chest you painted is original and professional
If you go to Johnsons Leyland, they will mix any colour you want, they do very good versions of Farrow and Ball for far less and the quality is good. I did the outside of my house in F&B Dorset Cream using Johnsons exterior paint and am pleased with the way it has lasted.
Obviously they can't achieve the very matt finish of some of F&B's emulsion paints, but one would varnish or wax it anyway. They can mix, I believe, 15000 colours I'm a professional in this field and often recommend their paint to clients who are balking at the price of F&B, Annie Sloan, Paint Library etc.
Thanks Artjak. The cupboard is just a plain pine IKEA dooberry for their IVAR shelving range which I picked up in their bargains corner years ago.
I put it on rollers and used a mitre saw to cut some trim for the top and bottom edges then I gave it 2 or 3 coats of local brand matt white, chalky, water based emulsion - similar to F&B but not as expensive. Then I stuck on the découpage houses and trees (cut out from wrapping paper) and varnished it. No aging effects as it was about to be bashed about by my small daughter and her friends but it's actually stood up very well to the wear and tear.

Staying with old friends in Harrow and meeting the rest of the group in West Ealing for our annual get together and BBQ. Taking Possum to Camden market on Sunday then raiding a DIY for paint on Monday and doing a raid on an Indian supermarket for mango chutney and spices before heading for the Chunnel.
Your door looks very smart.

Thank you obelixx I would have done a more country type colour but live in a terrace of eight houses and we all have the original windows and black and white theme from 1904 when built Both back and front!
Is it harrow where you are from oriiginally? Wasn't sure from your accent if you were from uk or Belgium
Im from uxbridge originally so know harrow and Ealing well. Sounds like you have lovely weekend planned, haven't been to Camden market since I was 17 and brought some lovely flat blue velvet very pointy shoes!
Make sure you check out which DIY stores have offers on paint as so so expensive these days, if you're too busy let me know and I'll look for you
I was born in East Africa and brought up in the north - Lancs, Manchester then Cheshire - before moving to London when I was 21 and ended up buying a house in Harrow with OH many years later. The BBQ group are all friends from when OH and I worked with them at the same software house. Last year they all came to us.
I've lived in this house in Belgium since 1993, longer than I've lived anywhere else, Paint here is much more expensive than in the UK but houses and vets are cheaper. I just need some emulsion and gloss to freshen up my kitchen in the half term hols at Halloween - no dance classes to get cleaned up for.
I'm president of a local club - 200+ members - and do the ballroom and salsa classes but look after Hip Hop every week and need to pop in regularly at Jazz and line dance (which I used to do before the feet reconstruction ops) and the belly dancing to make sure all is well and that everyone knows about forthcoming activities.
