At last I have pics of the flower bed ive overhauled in front of the neigbours huge shed image

Following BizzieBs advice past few weeks I dug out all what was there and left just the lilac, (the tallest one in pic) then planted the six bargain shrubs I brought and then re planted what I took out in front of them.  Know it looks bare right now but sure as soon as they get going it will hopefully cover the shed somewhat! today I brought a vigorous evergreen honeysuckle and thinking to put in pot as no flower bed to the far left of shed as you look at it

Also have another evergreen honeysuckle to go in and a climbing hydrangea which ill do next time im off shift image

Beaus mum, love your obelisk. Very pretty border, what is the plant with the creamy flowers. I see what you mean by the neighbours shed! They are actually just on your property.....it should be the other side of the fence, not level with it image  Think i would plant some quick growing shrubs image

Now onto this weeks re org image I have moved hydrangea that was growing through the black bench seat and moved the seat back and then trained my summer wine rambling rose over it.  Also had good cut back in the bed where seat is and to the right of it where I have trained the rose from

Hi Star Gaze, they have built the shed right on the boundary grrr and as we live on a hill their garden is higher than ours and the shed llooks even Bigger from us looking up image

The bargain shrubs I got and put in should grow quite quickly and think next year will be a lot better. There are 2 viburnums, 2 ceanothus, an osmanthus and a philadelphus. The honeysuckle is a new one called copper beauty and can't wait to get that in.  If it didn't take so long to upload pics I could have done tonight image

If you are asking bout cream flower bottom left that is actually tin bath with lilac lobelia and purple million bells image

Thank you for liking the obelisk, I've been collecting the range from Wyevale GCs called Loire, I get when they do offers on the range image

Hi Foks, BM I really can't believe they had the nerve to put the shed there.  the least they could have done is not have windows on your side.  I'd find a way of suggesting that they put frosted film on the ones that face your garden.  Its not fair that you are so overlooked.  We have had a similar problem with our neighbour watching too much grand designs and sticking a modern box like extension on the back of his lovely victorian house.  Because the ceilings are so high the extension seems enormous, if they had put an apex roof on it it wouldnt have been so bad.  Hubby says it reminds him of a crematorium as it has cedar wooden clading all over it that's quite popular with those sort of buildings.  I'm still trying to work out how to hide it but its really too high and our shed is next to it so I'd have to move it.

I did think about putting a green roof on the shed to break it up a bit but it seems quite complicated when you look at it. Maybe I'll plant some troughs up and put them round the edge.

Re garden lights. I love fairy lights in the garden.  Ours were lovely but hubby moved them to a different tree. He couldn't understand why they wouldn't work until I pointed out that it was in the shade and they were solar lights!  He's now installed a few spot lights that pick out different shrubs etc.  They look nice at night when they are on.

Love the obelisk, I've been thinking of putting a few in as my garden is flat and thought it would add some height to the borders. Also love the garden seat BM.

    Thank you artjak image

    and thank you Yviestevie image

Yviestevie why don't you take a pic of the extension and see if anyone has some ideas how to disguise it a bit on here?

i know I should speak to the neighbours but it been up about three years now and took him two years to build! I'm not the sort to say anything really unless I had a bit of Dutch courage image

Glad you like the obelisks and I have used just as statues of sorts when I've had gaps in borders and they really look lovely and like you say a bit of height image
