I started the modules off in the greenhouse and moved them outside while it was still reasonably warm. When I realised they weren't doing anything, I got a completely seperate batch and planted them directly at the allotment.
Huh?? I'm viewing this on my phone and it says the above comment is from me, but it isn't *shrugs shoulders*
GG the autumn raspberries I had were definitely red, but they just didn't have even an ounce of flavour that my summer ones did. I was really disappointed
Gina ,Think I have the same book,by Dr somebody in the shed.Looking at nematodes from what I'v read .Water them in when the soil warms up about June, or nuclear weapons, but they possibly illegal and spoils the taste for about 500years. Gwrs ,I ordered the jazzie and bags offer plus 20 bags is that over the top. or try other things in them.
So excited ! At long last my green house is going up. The builder started yesterday-concrete base and is putting the bricks round it now and next week will assemble it, can't wait have never had a greenhouse.
LOL Greenhouse has sat in the garage for a while as couldn't find a decent builder either the job was too small and they weren't interested or gave ridiculous quotes even this builder is charging a fair amount. GH is 8x6 which hopefully will be ok as most of the stuff will be grown on the plot.
Need to buy staging etc- I'd be interested in your ideas, have been reading the GH thread, no decisions made yet once the GH is up I think it will be easier to visualize what will fit in.
Went to the plot yesterday and did some digging on my new qtr plot managed to do about a 3rd. definitely feeling the muscles today.
Hello Roy, sorry, I missed your post re raspberries a few pages back. Mine are an unknown '
season' too, although they are showing new growth and leaves on some. Probably summer fruiting, we wait and see.
Went to the allotment yesterday with the intention of digging out some canes which have strayed into the neighbours fence bt soil too claggy, tried the fork - not very successful. Bright sunshine but bitterly cold wind. Tucked an extra piece of carpet over the compost bin. Not much more can be done at the moment.
May have to settle for a grow-house instead of a green house. Space at the house garden at a premium as I need a new shed there too!
However, getting organised with pots trays and modules.
Our allotment had a bad outbreak of potato blight last year so will be growing them in bags by the house again this year. Don't really mind because the more I'm planning for the allotment bed the more space I seem to need. Here's me thinking a half plot would be too big!!!
Wheyplotter got my G/H a few years ago but remember buying some aluminium staging in sale at G/C worth having a look , it is really worth having a G/H , would not be with out now
last year built some staging with wooden shelving that can be easily taken apart when finished with trays and pots , ready for growing in grow bags on a gravel floor
been up the allottment today bit more digging and removed huge sucker of plum tree , hope to go up there tommrow for full day
BizzieB. Found out my freebies are autumn ,got them planted on Sunday Talking to one of the locals today, told me to cut them down even ones with buds and leaves last years growth. Was hoping to get some of my wood treated today opened tin of Autumn Gold (baby s--- yellow) .Back to Homebase tin of autumn brown,so a wasted day.

Weyplotter, hi, envious of your greenhouse
can't help with staging, you're right to wait and see how it looks.
