I forgot to tell you Marion, I took my tomatoes to work and everyone loved them and said they can tell the difference from supermarket tomatoes to my home grown ones, so I'm going to grow more next year and I'm going to have a go at growing sweat peas, but I want the scented flowers image

Seven children and seven grandchildren to remember at Xmas and lots of friends, flumpy 1.  The heritage varieties of sweet peas have the best scent and give you lots of flowers but not as long stems as the modern ones.  I am so glad your tomatoes were appreciated.  I am coming to the end of mine but lots of soup, pasta sauce with them in are in the freezer for the winter.

Beautiful blue skies drew me out with my camera after lunch.

Another dry day forecast for Bristol and warmer than of late.  I should get a lot of work done outside today.  A new to my garden fox has been running away each time I go up the garden so may find out if he is a new resident or just a visitor.  There are certainly loads of tasty apples on the paths for him.My neighbour who is building his new wall very slowly has put the edging on the brickwork ready for the rendering, so more progress there.  I must not build up my hopes that it will be done by Xmas as i did last year.

I have just watched "Glorious Gardens from Above"and was completely blown away by it.  Every part of this production is splendid.  It is full of history, geography, drama, music, interesting people with interesting stories to tell, spectacular gardens and gardening and feats accomplished by Christine Walkden in her eagerness to help the gardeners that bring your heart to your mouth.  I do hope the production team get international acclaim for this and this is one program they can repeat time and time again as far as I am concerned.

Such a dreich day so I am happy to have a Xmas Fair to go to later.  I will try to get home in time for "Glorious Gardens from Above".  I do not think any gardening will be done outside today but I have tidied the conservatory.  More flowers opening on the tibouchina and the temperature slightly higher this morning so mild despite the rain we had through the night.

Eight Xmas presents bought and six handmade Xmas cards. all for £15!  It is not how big your pension is but what you buy with it that counts.  The Fair was in aid of our local school and the Bristol Newspaper for the Blind.  The bad weather had brought out lots of neighbours and our MP and other local dignitaries so it was overcrowded and too hot for me to stay to lunch which I had planned but may go back to see if I have won anything in the hamper raffle or big raffle or the door prize from my invitation ticket.  It is so lovely to see the work being done by these mostly elderly ladies.  Here are my purchases.
