One of my friends from the Botanic Garden visited me yesterday. i took her up to see my snowdrops and she sent me a picture of hers in the communal garden she helps care for.  Now i am planning on giving mine Cyclamen coum neighbours.  They already have the daffs.

The picture above has a lot to answer for.  I have just ordered 6 9cm pots of Cyclamen coum to plant among my snowdrops.  They have silver streaked leaves which should look good among snowdrops.  I plan to plant some snowdrops when I split up the big clumps under my Stachys bysantina (Bunny Ears).for the same reason.  The leaves are evergrey and snowdrops peeping up through them will look good.

My Golden Jubilee Year has had a very mild start but oh dear such a stormy one.  I expect this high wind has brought down lots of pink bark from my huge eucalyptus tree and more twigs will be scattered all round the garden for me to tidy.  I know the snowdrops will be looking at their best now but cannot venture out to snap them or the crocuses.  And the rain is almost nonstop again.  My basil seedlings came up in four days in my new electric propagator so the light is sufficient now to start on a lot more sowing.  A few antirrhinumas are showing too.  There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Aww, Verdun, and I am enjoying writing it.  So worried about the news today about Dawlish and the Somerset levels and no end in sight of this dreadful stormy weather.  My friend has just sent me a sign of spring in his windowbox.  It cheered me no end so would like to share it with you.

The Parcel post arrived before i was up with my Cyclamen Coum "Silverleaf" and my Lady series Hellebores.  Now all i need is the weather to play ball.  I don't mind planting in the rain as long as the wind stays away as I have lots of trees up in the Butterfly garden.  The first of my golden bulbs - "Pueblo" daffs, are flowering among the pelargoniums in the conservatory.  They are multiheaded with small flowers and very fragrant.  So glad I brought them in out of the windy weather.

The sun is out and no rain forecast for Bristol till nine 9m so I checked on my new cyclamen plantings.  They look quite at home among the snowdrops.

Loving your thread Marion image Hope you get good weather at the weekend.

My applemint is in the GH and is looking miserable, I might get a bit for next time we have new potatoes, I still have a few of last years Pentland Javelin in a sack in the garage and they are fine.
