I like nice photos. I've a decent camera but I'm what I call "a happy snapper", not a "photographer" . My smart phone was chosen because of it's camera and I take a lot on that too.
More or less all of mine are because of the subject matter though rather than "artistic". So more or less all are beautiful scenery, birds, wildlife, horses, dogs, flowers and countryside.
Absolutely excellent takes, NorthernLass.......I'm sure the pheasant would be a contender for this years Countryfile calendar competition (now closed unfortunately).....the theme being ‘Colours of the Countryside’.
I kind of did casually think it would be nice to enter something but you needed to send a hard copy and my printer isn't that great for getting the quality right. OK for what I need but I thought not that great for a photography competition.
I must admit I was thinking I'd have to go out and take something new but now you've suggested Percy pheasant and I think about it, I've masses of photos that would have most definitely fitted the subject matter.
Obtaining hard copies is easy peasy, NorthanLass. I can't be troubled to go to the trouble & expense of printing my own, so I upload mine for club competitions to one of the dozens of online labs.

David in reply to your post on my thread yes it would be good to discuses
the effects I achieved & photography in general.
I have to print mine myself for the clients I have as I would not want to risk them being ruined by someone else but saying that there are many good professional labs around.

so your images were taken on a camera phone?
if so they are remarkable truly they are
& which camera phone do you have?
happy snapper or photographer doesn't so as long as you get lots of joy & pleasure from taking pictures that`s the main thing
& yours are very good indeed.
The bird ones were all taken with my pocket camera.
That's a panasonic lumix
The snow one was taken with my mobile phone.
