I think it's lovely to know that the Red Admiral's original name had no naval connotations - it was originally known as an Admirable - isn't that great!
You mean it wasn't named after Yuri Aleksandrovich?
It seems apt to add a good tip for butterfly snapping.
Try to take them early in the morning before the sun raises their body temperature....this way they are less likely fly off just as you have them composed in your camera.
"Would it work if I email it to you or is there any other way?".....don't think so, Fg (as you say) a visit would be the answer, although I fear my mobility may be problematic.
You said recently that some of these places are a 2hr drive from you. It got me thinking, that's about the time it would take me to drive from here (in the Midlands) to Cornwall.....perhaps I'm just a wimp!
Ben Ledi is just the other side of Callander which is about an hour and a bit depending on time of day.
Sometimes the drive is less inspiring - going to Callander is quickest by the motorway (via Stirling) but I often come back the more scenic, longer route!
This was the view from part way up that hill the day I walked it - a couple of weeks before that other pic was taken. The marshmallow mist all cleared a bit later and it was a glorious day.
You can see the Wallace monument from the hill when it's a good day.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Mid October David It's a great time to hillwalk - often better weather than the summer. The squirrel pic was taken on 1st August on my way to a hill - couldn't see a thing at the top! I was on the hill across the road from Ben Ledi on 1st November - positively alpine with a good layer of snow and stunning blue skies.
This is looking north east from the summit of that hill (Beinn Each) to the neighbouring Munro Stuc a Chroin - the Lawers hills in the distance

Works on iPad David. Although a bit blurred.
Edted to add...didn't work when posted though! Oh well a lovely photo in my pic files

Yes, gorgeous shot, Lyn...and I was just itching to zoom in on it.
Ben Ledi is a lovely hill, in a lovely part of the country.
You'll both just have to come up here - walk it and take your own pix ....

I love zooming in on some of the pix I take, so I know what you mean. Sometimes it's the easiest way to ID hills.
