Second 'go' at loading a festive treat: a wondrous 'flat-pack' tree from the Ukraine exchange visit made so many years ago, it still graces our home each Christmas as a reminder of distant friends and lasting friendships!!

Yes, the weather was quite pleasant, Ann....unlike those poor people in the south of the country.

Hope your day was as you would have wished.

During a recent visit to Chatsworth House I took this shot of the Joseph Paxton's Conservative Wall. Built in 1832 when he was head gardener for the then Duke & Duchess of Devonshire. It was the forerunner of our greenhouses of today and is now a grade 2 listed building.....Paxton went on to build the famous Chrystal Palace for the Great Exhibition of 1851.

    Hope it doesn't fizzle out!
