For those who don't seem keen to use their cameras using anything other than 'auto', below are two excellent tutorials to help to venture out into using your camera's potential and getting more enjoyment from it. This is basically explaining how to use your camera using the 'aperture priority' (A or AV) setting....a useful step to using it on 'manual'.
They are great shots Fairy. How do you get the robins to pose like that?. I used to collect twigs with lichen like that on as food for stick insects for a forum member.
David thank you for the info. Very helpful. My camera arrived and I'm still ploughing through the 300+ pages of instructions which is full of techie stuff which you are obviously meant to understand. I'll get there in the end. Here are a couple from today - a macro and a zoom.
What a lovely splash of sunshine David. Fairy - lol - what type of glue do you use?.
My woodpecker paid a fleeting visit this morning and I was so lucky to catch it through the window. Mine aren't too clean either. Can't expect anything else with this weather though.

Is the starling one taken through a window? My blackbird one was. It's amazing how well it turned out even when the windows weren't very clean!
I must read the booklet that came with the camera

Very good, Lesley.....btw, I looked at the size of my memory cards & most seem to be 8GB, still enough capacity for around 800 pics.
