Went for awalk yesterday at a local lake and was surprised to see it empty, apparently for cleaning. Looked ever so strange compared to our usual view.

Heard before I saw these migrating cranes yesterday, was a marvellous sight and the noise was incredible. You do have to squint to see, little V on the right, was fabulous to the naked eye.

Steve 309 , think I saw that sand sculpture in it's very early stages, fascinating aren't they. Great pic too.
BL your pic was lovely too, so sad for these small villages, so many of our dead were from the same family, two or three brothers, so very very sad.
Not the best of pics as taken on my iPad but I just looked outside and thought how beautiful it was and wanted to share.......with Lily especially

Moonscape is what we thought, Lesley. Non-glaciated volcanic landscape.
...and some of the vegetation...
The skeletonised spike (about 2m high) is reputed to be of the bugloss family, like our little viper's bugloss!
