I'm no wannabe professional, but would like to be able to take nice close ups of flowers and stuff like that.. A decent zoom lens might also be useful too.
Yes, that is a nice camera, Hostafan, but it has interchangeable lenses and if you wanted to take really sharp close-ups of flowers/insects etc, you will still need to buy a macro lens....and they are expensive.
Please take a look at the Fujifilm FinePix S9800. It is a fixed lens bridge camera, has an fantastic 50x zoom lens that will also take those macro shots.

when my OM10 died . Oh bought me a Minolta Dynax 5. Great camera but now pretty much obsolete.
At that time digital SLRs were around £1,000 but within a year they were down to about £500 which I roughly what he paid for the Minolta.
