Love the eucalyptus. I dont suppose the Ajuga would survive here.image

Hi Fidget, the Ajuga might survive. Our temps range from 40c  to minus 12c. Low rainfall, though. They seem to disappear in winter and pop up now in spring. They are all over the property.  The other plant that is everywhere is Derwentia (used to be called parahebe) perfoliata.  I'll try to upload a photo for you. It's all over the hill behind the house at the moment.

I'll go up there and try for a close up. It's a pretty flower.

Gorgeous Iris Pat. I used to grow a Parahebe in my garden round the corner from here. Not sure why they're not more widely grown. It was very pretty, and survived our high rainfall. I did have it in a well drained sheltered spot though. image

Not sure if this is best place to ask, but here goes.

I'm looking to buy a digital slr camera which doesn't cost the earth but can cope with pretty much all day to day photography requirements.

Is it possible to use the lenses I have from my now defunct Olympus OM10? or are they incompatible with digital cameras?

Also needs a proper viewfinder thingy, not just a screen on the back.

What are your thought re buying second hand?

    Devon.

Hostafan - this isn't an easy question to answer without knowing what your requirements are.

I can say that unless you are lucky enough  to track down a second-hand Olympus camera compatible with your old lenses, they will not be of any use.......some camera shops will buy them though.

Digital camera types come as 'point and shoot', bridge or DSLR......my recommendation would be to get a bridge, as they are less expensive, less complicated and will achieve results acceptable for most circumstances.

Perhaps a SONY Cyber-shot DSCH300B at £99 from Currys/PC World would suit your needs.

I would say that there has never been a time when you could get so much camera for your money.
