We have the big orange slugs here too - on warm damp mornings in late summer we find them making baby slugs on the lawn - the big ones eat the little ones so I leave them alone.

They're fairly new to me. I only remember the black ones before the last few years. Now there are more of the tan

There are huge orange ones in France, bigger that yours, but I'm no way putting one on my hand
But it's the small grey ones that do all the damage.
