Hi Panda, so glad you're home. Safe and warm. Have a nice cup of tea and warm yourself up. Did you all have nice cakes today. Take care enjoy the rest of your hols.
Ahh, of course, garlic bread lol. Was trying to think of thingsin the fridge begining with G! Lol.
Hope Chicky, Verdun and Punkdoc are ok and all the other forkers.
Been out at a gardening lecture (seemed a bit surreal given the chaos going on everywhere else) - but now i know all about lilies - oriental ones, day ones and alstomeria. Lily - did you know where the "star gaze" in your name comes from??? Also bought some named snowdrops from the galanthophile in the village - 3 for £5 His garden is open on Saturday - will take some pics of my very own snowdrop walk.
Plenty of work colleagues still facing flood threats - in Datchet, Marlow, Wraysbury and Staines. Some horrible stories of rats and sewage. Thinking of all of you facing those winds - never known weather like this - relentless
Glad you're ok Chicky. I know its the name of a lily, which is one of my favourite flowers. But if you mean why is it called that,----apart from the markings on the petals then I don't know. Also love stars in the night sky, which is why I chose star gaze, rather then the lilies name of stargazer. Is there any other reason chicks
I always thought they were called star gaze lilies because they have sort of star shaped markings but i was wrong ...... Apparently it is because they were the first lilies bred with flowers that face upwards (hence gazing at the stars) - all the others have flowers that hang down. And on that fascinating note, i am off to bed

Keep safe everyone. Night night.
