Just had an email from the local animal sanctuary saying that yes they have lots of horse poo I may help myself too (for a donation - I'd rather give the cash to them than leave it at a farm gate and hope some git doesn't pinch it!) So I think that's Saturdays job sorted regardless of the weather! I'm hoping to brim at least two of the compost bins (I have four) to rot down into the compost already brewing and them I'll dig it around my lavender plants and tuck the remaining bags into a corner of the garden to carry on rotting ready for that day that will come eventually when I can start on the vegetable beds and herb gardens (currently mud and weeds - got to wait for the greenhouses to be sorted before I can do too much as the greenhouses are slab in the middle of it all!!)
Having a crew cab landy is very handy sometimes - you can drive right up to the poo pile in the field load up and just pressure wash it out afterwards! Shame I don't know anyone who lives nearby I could be pleasing all your neighbours with a surprise present for your plants! Weather is looking quite grim for the weekend too so at least it wont matter what the weather is like for this - I had really hoped to get the painting done.
Have you all seen the supercell weather for the weekend? Scary!!! Corfu was lovely we had one rainy day where lo and oh sat watching DVDs in this time I took a tour with the hotel Gardner of the grounds and his green houses lol.... I admired his cherry red guara they were georgeous. And have him some delphinium seeds I had got on a mag at the airport! He was over the moon and in our last week every other day there were fresh flowers on our patio!!!!
Glad you had such a lovely time Stacey. It's many years since I went to Corfu but will have to go back. At least you didn't waste time watching DVD's and look what you gained from it
I'v not seen the weekend weather yet but suppose I'll have to look. The bottom of our garden was under six inches of water last night
I've not got it ighten...barely into double digits here
Start praying now Lesley...my wand is no match for the Saturday forecast. Where I am is apparently the only place getting rain on Sunday - a nice big blob of blue on the radar south of Glasgow...
Exciting MrsG - but scary too. We're here to give you a bit of banter to keep the spirits up. Verdun might even trot out some of his quality jokes.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
It's grey and windy here but I've just put some washing out so expecting rain any minute I'm a little disappointed at this weekend's forecast given our plans, but would rather have the rain out of the way now to make way for brilliant sunshine on 21st June.....pretty please can I put my order in now??
If you strain your eyes really hard it's almost like its trying to be sunny here.
I'm off for a hearing test this evening at Specsavers. I've not had one since primary school - does anyone know what I should expect? Scary stuff for a 29 year old!
Quick question, if the flower at the yip of a courgette falls off will the courgette stop growing or will it be another reason that my courgette has stopped growing and the tip is going yellowy? All the others seem to be growing well, just not the one that I knocked the flower off?? Thanks.
Clari my eyes are straining so much to catch a glimpse of sun. Reminds me to go to Specsavers soon. Well overdue. Can't help with what to expect from the hearing test as I've not been for one either. I just say "pardon" a lot
