I have that Salivia in the garden Punkdoc and they lady I got it from told me it was hardy and to chop back one flowering is done. I did love it in the garden and hoping it comes back again.
Took delivery today of some new trousers (4 pairs) some for work some not for work. Am particularly loving the joggers, so toasty warm . . . will be ace for the garden
I love my joggers Panda and they are cosy warm for the garden
Glad you had a good day Dove, all my favourite shops (especially Lakeland and except for art suppliers as I'm not at all artistic but love looking at others work), enjoy the rest of your birthday.
Thanks Lily, I know you are all quite established gardeners so I may get a bit more excited than most about a few Sweet Pea babies LOL. I can't wait for other babies, although I need to plant them yet and might get to that at weekend. I need to find the thread where we were discussing planting times.......oh actually, I've just remembered I wrote it down, I just need to find my notebook
Tracey, dont be too keen to plant most of your seeds. There is still not a lot of light and seedlings will therefore tend to become etoilated [ long and floppy ]. You are much better waiting a while. Other than sweet peas I dont sow anything until about mid February. Although this year because of not being able to do anything outside I am itching to start.
By the way I think all gardeners get excited when they see seeds coming through.Even though we know its going to happen it still gives us a thrill.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Evening all and 'Hippo Birdy' to the birthday 'bird'
Hope you're full of cake and got everything your heart desired
Not done much today other than work, housework and putting up my lounge curtains. Cold weather on the way tonight. Won't be doing any seeds for another month at least but I don't really do many annuals apart from sweet peas and salad veg . Our outdoor season is a bit later in arriving anyway so I'm in no rush!
Nice to see you back MrsGarden
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Oops, yes. But you know what I mean and they are cheap ones form Wilkinsons, not expensive prize winning ones.
I'll be off to the naughty step now then
They may not be prize winning ones yet Tracey - but if you enter them in a competition you never know - David K can give you all the tips on showing sweet peas
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Thanks Dove but I think I just want them for my pleasure for now, and the pleasure of visiting family and friends who hopefully will enjoy my garden. I've had advice from David K on the Sweet Pea thread, he knows I have babies
