Pat, the poem is on the Night Before Christmas thread - you've got a mention
I was going to pop out for a walk and pick some greenery for a table centrepiece but it's absolutely tipping it down here and the wind has really strengthened so I'll give that a miss this year
Hope everyone else is ok - thinking of those who've already had more than enough rain ((hugs))
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
We've got plenty of apples Hosta - I could've lobbed a few over There's blue sky on the western horizon ..... but it's had its chance - I'm not going out there now! All the cooking prep has been done - OH is home from work, all turkeys dispensed to their rightful places, and Christmas has officially started in this house - we're on the sofa and our feet are up!

Have been metally rehearsing my turkey wellington plans.... am having to improvise a bit, but don't tell OH He doesn't like it when I do that well, until he eats it that is Still, he is out at work and I am at home so what he doesn't know....
Still have a bit of work to do round the house but am taking it easy
My OH gets a bit nervous when I go "Off Piste" with recipes too Panda - still it makes life a little more exciting doesn't it???
Turkey's dressed ready for tomorrow (best frock LOL ), parsnips pureed, giblets stocked, fruit salad made so just waiting for everyone to get here now. Think I will prep the sprouts & tonights dinner in a bit while listening to the carols from King's.
Just time for a cuppa in front of the fire
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Sainsbury's was mercifully 'quiet' compared to other places, so got the bits and bobs required. Youngest fairylet happy that she got her Mickey Dee's ( ) and I got a coffee
Cake pix will be forthcoming
We'll have the carols on while having our dinner T'bird - if not, it's on tomorrow morning. I have threatened to play Bob Dylan's Must be Santa on a loop to make them get up tomorrow morning though . So bad it's brilliant!
Here Hosta - catch. You're lucky there's any left - the blackies have had most of the apples I bought
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Dining room table is set for tomorrow, house is de-cobwebbed (wonder how long that will last?), glass paned doors cleaned. Now to make stuffing and prepare veg.
What rotten luck about your back DD, hope it feels better tomorrow. I hope you are having a break from the B&B.

Just braved Waitrose and picked up some bargain meat / fish / party snacks reduced to half price or less.

BL - you could have saved time by just spraying the cobwebs with silver or gold paint and telling everyone it was a new 'must have' feature
Fairylet's quite pleased with her cake - hope it tastes as good as it looks. It was lovely last year

Lovely Fairygirl, gosh that icing is smooth.
What happens then when Christmas is over and the spiders re-appear to enlarge their webs?
