Hello all think I will be filling up the bird feeders today as they are eating a lot, the blackbirds were running around on the grass the other day here
The blackbirds are gobbling up apples. There are only a few left in store, but they have done well this year. I've spread FYM on the onion patch and the pumpkin/courgette patch. I have to top dress the tree lilies, and a few other things. Lots of white heads showing on my snowdrops but they are not open yet.
I need a new barrow. the wheels have gone on both the old ones.
well sorted the pots over 100 various sizes going to a good home . kept about the same . good clear up of junk .stuff and bits of wood . i keep thinking it will come in handy and as soon as you take it to the tip . hey presto you need . anyway its going . cloudy now and cold here . and cut my hand open again must take my gloves off when i get IN THE HOUSE
I know what you mean Archie, i cleared out my old GH on Sunday and took some carpet to the tip......now I need it to put on top of my manky compost it seems Too late, it's gone!
I've just pootled around in the garden for a few minutes - procrastinating - I've got paperwork to do - and as well as the violets and snowdrops etc, I've got a sprig of Sweet Rocket with a flower on!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I've got three pots with dark reticulata Iris which will hopefully bloom soon. I love them. I'm going to have to go to the nursery for some native primulas. I promise to keep a firm grip on the credit card...although it's a minimum spend on that of course so could be tricky
It's always the way - the day after you dump stuff you've kept for months is exactly when you find a use for it. I hate clutter gathering so I'm always going there.
The blackbirds have stripped the cotoneasters and pyracantha here, but only recently as there hasn't been enough severe weather for them to need it. They're enjoying the apples here too.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Verdun have you purchased your new car? I fear my attention span has gone to pot and now I'm all confused what is happening! By the sounds of it you'd be better off waiting for Spring to kick in and saving your funds less you end up needing to by a boat
I've spent all of my gardening / clothes / treats budget on car parts (oops!) So shall be pulling in the wallet strings for a few months and working with what I have. I can't wait for it to be light in the evenings though, that 7 ton of soil wont move itself!
Back after a couple of hours tidying in M's garden, a lot better draining than ours. Been good to do a bit. So many things budding and showing growth.
Fidget, got a spare barrow at M's
Clari, how about a soil shifting party? Sadly I'm busy that day Don't envy you that job.
Tracey's how's new GH progressing ?
Archie I'm waiting for a moan from garage next time OH wants something that got thrown yesterday. Always happens. Hope hand is okay.
Nice pics Pdoc, my Euphorbia isn't quite open yet in fact only had a look at it yesterday & took a photo. Honesty has lost most of ...what do I describe them as? flowers ?? Been blown off.

As you can see not much work is being done.
No snowdrops or Oriental hellebores out yet.
