T'bird - I missed the first series of The Bridge (didn't have Sky then!) but saw The Tunnel - by accident as I'd heard a review of it. When the second Bridge series was about to be shown, they repeated the first series and I caught it then. I think it helped me a lot knowing the story, and the second series might have been trickier to follow without seeing the first.

I've been watching Arne Dahl too and enjoying that as well image

I've had bolognese simmering for hours, but the girls aren't hungry so it'll be tomorrow's dinner image

Evening all. Sorry I haven't been around its been a strange old week. A darling friend died completely unexpectedly and then I open up Facebook to find friends family members seem to be departing at an increasingly worrying rate. There'll be no one left come Christmas! image

On a more positive note aside from five days (schools visiting and Christmas events) I am now pretty much off work until the 11th January. I say pretty much because when its a one man team you still need someone to be checking the emails and going in to work to get answer phone messages, plus I need to repaint the classroom (the lads who did it did a great job but as it died it has gone patchy so could do with smartening up again), oh strip the riot van back in a few places its gone rusty, work on some.....

Okay so I'll *mostly* be on holiday this month! Unfortunately plans to go away have been shelved and his lordship has cancelled his time off so he'll be working. Perhaps if I am lucky the dog will come with me to the sea side. I just hope the weather is nice: the garden is mostly full of other peoples rubbish after this wind (at least all the trees / houses are still upright).

    Keep safe everyone.

  • Hello folks image  we're home from visiting Wonky and her lovely hub image  Marvellous lunch - absolutely bdooly marvellous!  Still completely stuffed!!!  Missed the tennis, but ............ hey - I got to walk around Wonky's garden image

And isn't it wonderful what happens when I start playing tennis ....... image

I'll get my coat .................................................. image

Journey home a bit windy - that's an understatement - as we left Ipswich sheets of roofing felt were being ripped from the roofs of partially built buildings, and as we crossed the border from Suffolk to Norfolk we were all crawling at about 20 mph with wipers on as fast as they would go headlights on and foglights front and rear - the rain was torrential, the roads were flooded in places and the spray horrific.   The rain isn't so bad now, but it's pretty windy out there

Keep safe and warm everyone ((hugs))

Glad you got home in one peace Dove, it's been really bad here too in the NW, my dad was just telling me a tree as fallen on his street. Is wonkys garden very big? And what did you have to eat? : )

Glad you had a good day Dove, despite the journey home. You missed a treat with the tennis though image

Every shade of s*** here weatherwise. Wind, rain, sleet, hail and snow. The usual fare for end of November though image

Bolognese consumed. Cup of tea and flapjack now and we're watching Sister Act. You can't help but smile image

  • Wonky's garden isn't huge, but fairly large for a town centre garden - probably just a bit smaller than half a tennis court.  They have a large shed across the far end of it, a terrace at the house end, and Victorian brick walls along either side.

Wonky had made a fantastic steak and mushroom steamed pudding, with rosemary roasted potatoes and savoy cabbage.  I took a greengage and almond crumble and there was farmhouse cream and custard - still full image
