Lilly, is that Towan beach at Newquay? There is a house there on a cliff with only the bridge as access, you wouldn't get me living in it.....very rocky and sandy garden!!!

I was woken before dawn by the digger next door. the pigeon sheds have gone.I'm just waiting for them to light an enormous bonfire. I felt like going out and shouting "who wet the bed?". I can't see any other reason for operating heavy machinery at 6.30 on a Sunday morning.

I found an old prewar photo online of the lodge house next door (currently being renovated) My house(built after that) is where the oak tree(which is not there any more) was.

it was pretty rural, now its all built up and the A52 flyover goes over the road about 400 yds down.

Tracey in my view far too soon. Unless you have a heated greenhouse wait until at least the start of March, I will do mine late March.

There is a thread about this. I'll look it up later and move it back up.

Tracey, far too soon to plant tomato seeds, unless you have a greenhouse with plenty of light and heat on.We start sowing tomatoes at the end of March.. They get planted in buckets in the greenhouse at the beginning of May (frost free greenhouse).

  • Verd. I would like to post photos but my camera is not compatible with my Mac, and I need to update the former first. It is on my agenda, but I need advice from technical Nephew first.

  • Yes Tracey5, I can remember as a child walking across a bridge like that over a beach with my dad, it swayed as you walked!! I can't remember what was the other side and I wouldn't have thought you would be allowed to have public access on this one as it only leads to the house. You wouldn't get me on the bridge now yet alone live in the house! The current owners are in their early eighties!!  Its really bugging me where it was.

    Lovely pic fidget

I thought so, was going to look it up but thought I'd just ask the question while on here.

Fidget, I'm sure there is a legal time limit on making noise too early, might be worth looking into. If I were you I wouldn't be fit to live with today so you have my sympathy, I hate being woken up!!!!
  • I'm sure you're right Tracey, it would be bad enough on a week day at that time, but on a Sunday is just inconsiderate.  Lovely neighbour!!

Do you know the beach well Tracey

They tell me they're clearing it for  garden. It looks awfully like a space for two detached houses.(which the road is numbered for).

The digger has stopped and the chainsaw is going again now. image

I won't be offering them a cup of tea.

No I don't know the beach well at all Lily, I wish I did. We went on holiday to Cornwall last August and I saw the beach at Newquay. I don't like bridges at all so I wouldn't live there.

Poor you fidget, go and have a wander round a garden centre or something just to get away from the noise for a bit.
