Evening all, well wind tornado yesterday for the fayre, quite a few of the gazebos were taking off and trying to cross the field - getting damaged in the process. It was all hands to the pump each time a gazebo tried taking off.
Quite a few people packed up early and we left early as it was impossible to stay any longer in the wind, there were not many members of the public there when we left although the raffle had not been called.
Good news was that I sold some seeds - flower seeds and runner/French bean seeds. The money will go towards the upkeep of the Station flowerbed.
Of course, as they had a plant stall, I had to get a few. More plants in pots, just like Verdun, waiting to be planted out.
Then today, still a bit windy, I sorted out replanting the raspberry canes, giving them new compost. Hard work separating them and removing the grass that had grown around them. Snap, Chicky.
Morning Archie (who will have long gone by now), mrsG and Dove. Glad the dove chicks are safe in their sky dish. Good luck to all with exams this week.
Wind finally dropped here too - what a weekend of squalls! Glad i wasn't anywhere near a gazebo Ggirl.
just done a GH check and all is growing. Our wisteria is in its prime right now - must get out there with the camera before it goes past its best.
Good morning, it's been dry overnight, and wind seems calmer.
Thoughts with all poorlies & exam takers.
I need to get things hardened off as toms now ready to plant in final pots and currently GH very full. Peas to stake as soon as 4' canes arrive. Netting and bobble things arrived so as soon as veg ready to plant out I can protect them.
Cumbers still in conservatory. Finally 2nd lot of runners have germinated Two varieties of climbing french beans looking good, wigwams to construct. Two daleks to empty. Need to sow some salad leaves & carrots. Think I'll be busy today
Morning all, thanks for the hug Dove, just what I needed. Me, OH and littlest man went swimming at 6.30, git home at 8.458 and little big man still in bed!!! He is making no effort at all to stop us 'nagging' him....now gone out in a strop. Also found out last night that school have entered him for a low exam, without even telling us and he needs A's for the apprenticeship he wanted to get on. So so stressful at the moment .
I'll catch up properly later, off to email school now it find out what they are playing at.
Just want to echo good luck to everyone taking exams, daughter starts her vetty ones next week . Good luck to Mike today, hope all goes well (( )) lovely start to the day here, and good weather to look forward to from Wednesday
