Clarington, hope you feel better soon.  I'm slowly getting there. It's absolutely driven me crazy for the last couple of months. I'm not used to feeling ill.

On another topic, am I the only one to get their GW mag on line?  I was hoping for the 25th, but realise because it was Sunday, that I probably would need to wait until Monday. I'm being a bit impatient , I know, but it seems a long time since the last issue.

Morning all. Weather has got warmer, 20° forecast for today and sunny. But I haven't time to use it as I have a committee meeting followed by lunch with friends.

Thank you Clari for the tip. I haven't seen a picnic blanket like that in France. I could try the sports shop or get a waterproof mattress cover for a child's bed. He was clean in the night, but there was a terrible mess while we were watching Downton in a different room. Didn't help that OH had left the kitchen door open so that was 2 rooms to clean.image

    Good morning all, afternoon Patimage

All this talk of seedlings and pricking out, potting on has made me long for spring.  It was lovely though when I took the dog out this morning.  The Autumn colours this year are gloriousimage.

Clari that's a very good idea to use a picnic blanket to protect a dog's bed.  Why didn't I think of thatimage

Hope your cold isn't too bad today jo.

I'll have to have a good read back as I missed a lot yesterday.  Kept falling asleepimage

    Have a good day everyoneimage

We crossed there Lizzie.  I remember going through something very similar with our last dog.  It's horrible seeing them going downhillimage. ((Hugs))

  • Good morning all,

Lizzie, feeling very sorry for your poor dog, I do hope it is just a bug he has, maybe he will get over it.

Good luck with the parking protest Jo, I was successful with my last two before we left the UK, but it was obvious I was right. The Monty thing sounds a bit unfair too. image

Well done on sorting the seeds Pat, such patience, one of my least favourite jobs even when I know what I've got. image

Made a lot of progress in the garden yesterday, looking nice as the weather is lovely and the autumn colours are so pretty. More of the same today, mostly just tidying but I have to go to my French class this afternoon.

Atmosphere a bit tense in the house, OH has grumpy head on. Poor Charlie is still off school, 2 weeks here at this time of year, he got up too early this morning, according to clocks not his own normal body clock and he got a real ear bashing of Daddy for waking him up. He was crying, OH was shouting, not an ideal start to the day. image He has spent most of the holiday playing on our neighbours farm with their grandson but he goes back home tomorrow so I am thinking of taking him to some caves for a day out on Wednesday, just the two of us for a fun day with lots of treats thrown in. image

Better get a move on, otherwise the morning will be gone. Have a good day all. image

    Morning all.

Very grey again, but lots needs doing outside, so must motivate myself.

It is funny how some people talk about putting the garden to bed for the winter, whilst I find October and November very busy.

Hope all the poorly people and animals feel better soon

I put a lot of tender potted plants under cover a fortnight ago, but the rest of the garden is still going. Spring flowerers like Geranium palmatum, blue Centaurea montana, and primroses are flowering ,along with dahlias, Verbena bonariensis, cosmos and the salvias still flowering well. Yesterday, I picked a handful of polka raspberries, a huge bunch of gladioli for the house. These gladioli were bulbs I planted the first week of June.image

Sunny  here,  I will try and get the last of the Apples in.

    Morning all.

Just had the most wonderful news.

Our friend where OH stays up country has been re-united ( some good comes of facebook ) with his daughter 15 years after her mother moved and didn't tell him .

He spoke to her on the phone last night and they're meeting up tomorrow.

I'm soooooooooooooooo thrilled for him. Just had a very weepy quick phone call with him, but neither of us could speak properly so he's calling me later.
