Runny, I'm pretty sure we put the clocks back tonight, not Sunday. But no doubt I'll be corrected if wrong... ....................Re Dove's leek & potato soup: OH is supposed to be on a low salt diet, so 3/4 tablespoon of salt sounds a bit extreme - though I guess using stock would mean you could reduce the salt. .....
Clocks - strictly speaking clocks go back at 2am Sunday morning - but we adjust them Saturday night just before going to bed, and I suspect lots of people do the same
Re the soup - I agree, I wouldn't use that much - I add a bit, taste and adjust accordingly Ian is a retired professional chef and wine expert - his recipes sometimes seem a bit salty for modern tastes - I think that was the way he was trained (a good while back now). I suspect that he doesn't use quite as much salt nowadays as he used to, but he developed his recipe databas quite a while ago.

Steve - the Kay's catalogue - I remember that well!
I'd agree Lesley - I like mine to taste of potato too. What is wrong with these people anyway! Cream cheese and chive is about as racy as I get with crisps...although I like the occasional spicy one
I was thinking of Hosta with the deliveries Dove. I think he could have great fun with that - especially with the less pleasant customers....
Ironing's done - rain's gone off and the sun is even making an appearance.
The little birds are enjoying the new facilities too
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
It's miserable out there - I've done some bits but need OH's muscle to help me dig up some autumn raspberries - I know it's a bit early but we're giving them to a friend of a friend and will only be that way next week ....... and they're taking over the rest of the fruit patch and some of them have to go.
Anyway, I've checked the forecast for tomorrow and it says dry and sunny - the rest of the gardening jobs have been deferred until tomorrow ...... it's now lunchtime - Waitrose's tinned sardines piccante in a wholemeal bread sandwich with some sliced sweet and sour pickled red onion slices - very yummy!!!

Had to put the cane in as a little perch - the great tits were a bit unsure of perching on the mesh. The blue and coal tits just went straight in - 'nae kissing' as we say here...

I like my steamer sometimes RB. I only use it for floors but I've used it on all kinds, from tiles to laminate to solid wood. You just alter the temp of the steam. I find it top heavy though and a bit awkward.
plain crisps are my usual choice too
I'll improve the cage next year - make a proper timber frame etc. Might get summat to make a roof to keep them dry. Maybe some perspex for the side which gets the worst of the rain....taking that too far now...
I didn't bother ironing the 'posh' clothes jo - I don't wear those too often either Time for lunch

I think you could make a bit more of an effort Fg - other people provide much better accomodation
