    Morning all. Happy holidays Hosta.

My cold turned into sinusitis and cheekbones were really hurting last night. Took decongestant and decon. nose spray at bedtime. In the early hours, better not tell you the gory details, it drained and am feeling heaps better!

There was a storm at 7am (OH said), it turned the electricity off, dog is bag of nerves and the ground is sodden, but I slept through it.

Just ordered some Dahlias online, thought that might get me thinking about Spring.

Hosta, hope the holiday starts to go well.

Congratulation!  Join the club!  After two years of dossing around I've decided that I need to try to get just a little bit of routine and structure into my life i.e. keep up with the paperwork image

Easier said than done, Dove. I'm retired but my paperwork is over a year behind with the sorting and filing.

Happy retirement GWRS, you will wonder how you ever had time to go to work!

  • Well it's almost all over now and I hope everyone is looking forward to the Spring. I took the tree down this morning but left some dried up greenery to burn on the 6th.

I loved the beautiful horses in War and Peace. I noticed they were supplied by The Devil's Horsemen. They did a display at the Royal Cornwall Show a few years ago. The daughter of the owner stood on the backs of two horses and galloped round the ring having a race with another rider,. Absolutely fearless.

I meant to say that before, Pottie Pam, about the horses in War and Peace, because Pat E said she didn't watch that sort of film because of the horses getting hurt.

The horses don't get hurt, it's a highly skilled business and the horses are valuable and very well trained. The Devil's Horsemen supplied horses for the War Horse film and Downton Abbey. The family have been riding all their lives and are very talented. The barbed wire in War Horse was made from string and plastic.

A lot of the horses are Spanish and Lusitanos from Portugal, beautiful and intelligent. My Hannah is Spanish/Lusitano and Lena is Lusitano, also very comfortable for the older rider!

  • Good morning all, image

Back to child care duties today,  Sun is out at the moment. When son comes in for dinner I will hand  his children over to him then I can get out and do a few jobs. If it stays fine the children can come out after dinner.image

Chicky , my Chiltern catalogue has just dropped through for the door. I was hopeful after you said yours had arrived.image

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.
