Right, the car is home having passed it's MOT and has had a service. All is well with our world
I see we have acquired some sort of fungal infection - I thought I recognised the signs just before I left to fetch the car. Fine for people to express their views - not so fine to do so in accusatory language to gardeners who were just asking a question, and to dig up old posts in order to do so.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I like the way someone says he faces 'having to pay ...' . There's no 'have to' about it - he can play golf elsewhere, or go for a walk or get a bicycle or whatever

Hosta - with confidence is the only way to b***sh*t
So glad you've found the right place for mum Liri. I know what you mean about it being further for you to travel, but you've done the right thing making sure it's the best for her
I'm almost tempted now to make a pudding! Always did it during the October holiday week ( last week) along with the cake. The smell is wonderful. Haven't done one for ages as it's only me that eats it, and older fairylet sometimes. I don't have the room now to have rellies over for Christmas dinner, and my sis has grandchildren so they're busy with all of them. Better for my waistline though
Turned very 'smirry' here again, but quite mild. I much prefer the dry cold - all the leaves were tinkling down like snow when I was driving the other day. So pretty
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I always make the puddings on Stir Up Sunday alongside Jill Archer I have to make extra 'cos Wonky has to have one on her birthday too.
Fg, looks like you could put your hiking boots on and visit Nutcutlet on the Cambs border - the BBC Radio 2 News Person described today's sad plane crash as taking place 'in the Cambridgeshire Fells'

I might visit my nephew then - if Cambridge has acquired some hills, Dove. They don't usually make that sort of error on Radio 2 ...

gosh Gertie, You make me blush.
The area in that photo: the path was there and the pond , but all the planted area was grass when we came here 4 years in Dec.
All those bags on the drive are, I'm ashamed to say, full of weeds. OH did it for me bless'im , and we'd just mulched it all with home made compost.
The plan is to stretch the garden out from the house and also around the lake. Maybe one day they'll meet in the middle and I'll have a whole garden.
I do love it and it never seems like "work" despite the knee issues.
I honestly look at at it and think " this is mine" even after 4 years.
My last garden was about 40ft x 20ft My polytunnels are both bigger than that.
I know I'm very lucky and I'll never ever forget that, but thanks for your very kind words.
