Liri I'm glad a decision has been made and just hope that the assessment goes well. It's quite an upheaval for all of you but, as you say you'll see more of your sister and family
Lyn I bet it smells lovely in your house.
Fairy. They do seem to have been very imaginative with names
The grandchildren didn't want to go to the market today, they said they are happy playing here. They've played with homemade playdough, made a crown, drawn pictures, done dressing up, run around the garden, run around the house, played imaginary games, made a mess and had lunch. Phew!
Glad you got back in one piece, Dove. Glad there is an M&S in Norwich. We've been to Suffolk and Norfolk a few times this year, hunting for a cottage for our English base. We met Dove in Suffolk in July. We think we've found our cottage, but it's not Dove's side of Norwich. We had a few near misses and disappointments on the way so I hope this one works out.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
So pleased you've settled on a place for Mum. Must be a load off your mind.
I've spent a few hours in tunnels weeding. All the agapanthus I moved yesterday have been done. As I was doing them I was checking the roots. No sign of vine weevil this year and virtually all of those I repotted in Spring could do with moving up a size already.
Came in to find message from Hubby, on his way home and did I remember to take fish from freezer. Cue rush to freezer.
Liri, I think Sons of Bitches have made the most progress but it's Choral Stimulation for me. How stupid, and selfish , of their musical director to disappear to Belfast for 6 days when they only had 8 days to rehearse?
Wow Runnybeak, you are brainy. My best UC is 12, average 7, OH is way past me.
We did have a base in the UK, flat above DIL's in Eastbourne. They need a bigger house now there are little ones so will be selling. My mother's family came from East Anglia.
There is an NHS is France, but patients pay a contribution. If you have a green card a lot is covered. I don't think board and lodging in hospital is covered and most French people take out an insurance for the extra, not expensive.

Hosta at least you've got the fish out now but you did do the washing.
Jo, keeping busy is probably the best thing you can do (hugs).
Lizzie I'm worn out just reading about your grandchildren. Hope it works out for you with the cottage.
Rb you made me laugh out loud with your description of GS's harvest festival exploits. I remember my son in a production in his primary school when he was the loudest of all the singers. Unfortunately he can't hold a tune to save his life. All the audience were in stitches but he didn't seem to mind bless 'im.
No, you're not a funny shape it's just that no common sense is being used when designing winter wear. It must be a lot cheaper to produce droopy, off the shoulder numbers.

Hi Liri, I've been following your story about your mum but haven't commented because I'm quite new here and it's none of my beeswax.
It's tough when the child becomes the parent and it's hard to know what to do for the best sometimes.
I hope you're mum will be ok in her new home (I'm sure she will) and as you say you get to "play" with your sister.
Sometimes you have to hunt about for the nuggets in the crud but they're always there.
Good luck on your new path to you and your family. x

I hope your Mum settles happily Liri. It sounds a good place.
