DD, I am with you, down with them then remembered my Grandchildren will be here tomorrow so had to resist the temptation. The slow cooked beef stew is tomorrow so omelet tonight, not your light fluffy thingee but bacon bits fried off with onion and garlic tomato, then cheese added to the egg and cream mix and the lot poured over the bacon etc. cooked the bottom on the top ring then under the grill and watch it rise until cooked, a few greens and that is my meal for the night, may treat myself to another beer as well, why not?
Lovely memories of Vienna and your wife - thank you for sharing them with us! A couple of years ago our then-2-year-old granddaughter arrived to stay at New Year, when we were watching the music and dancing relayed from Vienna on the Beeb. She was absolutely transfixed, and stood watching for a full half hour.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
DD, stop it! Go to bed, read a book! Does it bother you if you go to someone's house and their window are filthy? Or is it only your house? My windows are filthy, but no point bothering in winter, the weather and rain only dirties them again.
I've just spent a pleasant 1 1/2 hours on the sofa in front of the woodburner, reading, watching TV and ringing two of my children, the 2 who weren't here last night.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Something about a new year makes me want to clean and tidy everything!
Decorations came down first thing this morning and now I have decided to start a spring cleaning of the kitchen- love to empty all the units and clean and reorganise them!
Back from our walk - rain started half way round, so that cleared out the lightweights and we got the place to ourselves. Very atmospheric with the mists swirling round. And I can now vouch for the waterproof properties of my new boots
My decs will come down on twelth night (weds) ...I'm a stickler for those old traditions/superstitions. i'll be back at work by then so "down" constitutes "all in a pile on the dining room table, to be packed away at the weekend"
Mad, Flowers! I remember when we bought our first house in 1973. We knew it needed decorating, but it was filthy. I don't think she had ever cleaned her kitchen cupboards, jam rings, rusty tin marks cobwebs and general filth everywhere. Wish we had bought a house from someone like you!

Raining and cold outside. Woodburner on, found the new Colditz on the TV to watch and just polishing off the last of the toblerone. What could be better.
The photos were just men, we probably all know what they look like. I agree with little-ann. Ladies don't think as the men do when men are presented with naked young ladies. But there has been some admiring of Aidan Turner here! At least he wore a towel!

Pdoc - that's good news about your SIL
Very glad to hear it.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

KEF the pictures posted by Edd were no more than I would expect from him, it was Verduns assumption that they would please the ladies offended me more
