Good morning all image G'day Pat image

Hope everyone got a good night's sleep eventually - I expect most of you are still there! image

Can someone please organise a fine dry morning for me - the wallflowers arrived on Friday and really need to be planted this morning ...

    Good morning Dove, afternoon Patimage

Pat I would rather it rained for you too then Dove can get her wallflowers planted and I can get round to planting the daffodil bulbs that are still languishing in the garageimage.  The dahlias have been frosted so I'll have to dig up the tubers ready to store.  On GW Monty was talking about deadheading frequently to keep flowering going for another month.  Doesn't apply hereimage

    Have a lovely Sunday everyoneimage

Morning all - well Dove and Pat anyway image

Been awake a while but watched something I'd recorded. Think I'll have a quieter day today - get something done outside as it's supposed to be nice again. Too dark to see anything at the moment! I'll try and arrange some sun today Dove, but we seem to have pinched the best weather for ourselves up here image

It's when you're having a quiet time that thoughts catch up on you, isn't it Pat? I hope today is better for you.

I think I'll get a cup of tea image

Yes I'm still awake. We're 10 hours ahead, so 6pm here.  Have just finished our dinner and lining up for the evening viewing on TV.  A bit difficult to decide what to watch because our son doesn't always like what we do.  Doesn't matter, we record our favourite stuff and watch something else.image

......... Dove - we could do with some of your rain please image I hope you can get your wallflowers in today. How's the hoggie at No. 10? ............

Another coffee sounds like a very good idea Fairy image

He seems to have moved on from his home with the shiny black door, so we haven't had to persuade him to move for the tree fellers - he must've heard us talking  image not sure where he is but there's plenty of undergrowth in this and the neighbouring gardens now - he's still coming round for his supper most nights image

Yes please Fg, more coffee image

You sneaked in there at the same time as me Lesley! My daffs are languishing too - in the house though image I'd like to do them today as well as chopping conifer branches for the brown bin collection. Alliums (sphaerocaphalon)  need deadheading now, some might have seeded, but I bought a few more last week so I could poke them in too.

I've just found out why it was so dark - opened the curtains and couldn't see much - very foggy again. Hope it burns off - it should do. I had lovely cloud/mist inversions on the walk yesterday and watched it all burning away as I got higher and looked back. It's always terrific when it happens. It was pretty chilly though - only 2 degrees at times on the way there until I hit sunnier spots. Chilly at the top too when some mist came in - needed jacket and fleece for a while. Smashing day though. Best time of year for hillwalks if you get a clear day.

Jo -  'I made some coffee and took it back to bed with a book and a couple of cats' .... I take it the cats aren't part of breakfast though....image

Morning all. Can't dead head dahlias here either in SW France. Blackened by the frost. Frost is a bit early this year, but Dordogne winters are usually colder than English ones. Already been -4° here. I'm in a frost pocket.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
