It's beyond me, Fairy. No brain between their ears, maybe.

so sorry to hear about all the rain damage. I wouldn't mind having some of your rain.  We drove around our back area yesterday and all the dams are at least down to half capacity. It doesn't look good for summer, with it being so dry everywhere

  • Glad you're ok Fg - been thinking of you ((hugs)).

Hoping Bushman, Little ann and the others in the path of the storm are ok.

The best laid plans of mice and men gang oft agley ......... isn't that what Robbie Burns said?  I'd just settled down to do load of parental paperwork when the new GW mag popped through the letterbox image

    Frank has left us behind.

Hardly a breath of wind now and just a bit of light rain.

I've had the joy or online check in, and printing boarding passes, travel insurance documents, ATOL certificate, hotel check in papers etc etc

It used to be a "service" industry, now they expect the passenger/ customer to do it all. gggrrrr

  • Just heard something tapping on the window ... a fat bumblebee caught in a spider's web being blown against the glass - I popped out and freed it and it fell to the ground, gathered its thoughts together and flew off happily into the sunshine ....... it's mid-winter!!!

doc - image Ballater is so beautiful, but at this time of year,  if it's not snowbound....image

Glad you're feeling a bit more like yourself. Hope you have a good holiday and come back refreshed and renewed image

Thanks Dove - it was a very wild, noisy wind last night and then the rain came.

I just heard Jeremy say that some cars in flooded streets have had parking tickets on them....I can't say here what I really want to say ... so I'll just put **#@!!!!*** image

  • I'm very sceptical about Jeremy Vine and the things he gets all self-righteous and hot under the collar about - we need to know the dates on those parking tickets - they could have been there before the floods, couldn't they?

JV just likes winding people up, pressing their buttons and making people anxious.

When I'm in charge he and the other Jeremy (yes Kyle, I mean you) will have to get proper jobs and stop exploiting the anxious, the unfortunate and the inadequate.  image

Bit harsh Dove image  I think he put the question out there for verification - not sure if anyone responded though to confirm or otherwise. Nothing would surprise me though. I'm very fond of him - brilliant with people who are struggling with a difficult story to tell. Never sounds insincere.

Youngest fairylet just quizzed me over the 'eating of the Quality Street' and complaining that she'd had  hardly any of them. If you're not fast you're last, I said. image

I'm looking forward to being old and just living on biscuits and chocolates and not caring KEF. Doubt I'd stay at seven stone though - I'd need to lose a stone or two  to get there first   image image

I went out when the rain went off briefly and hoiked the fence back together - sort of. Fixed my neighbour's guttering on her garage before it fell off and took the soffit with it. Needs more brackets methinks. Weather's rubbish  here today.
