Dove; the neighbours builder was politely told that using the main stop tap in the street isn't appropriate (cuts water to four houses) when there's a perfectly good one house stop tap by the back door.
Mind you I'm just grateful it wasn't anything serious!
Funny you say about showering in the rain though: yesterday we ripped up the old flooring in the bathroom to replace it with some new.
Today we'll be ripping *everything* out so that we can put things back in properly (because we don't need to worry about having electricity to do that: Frank is proving very spirited here).
So glad to hear that your hubs is safe and sound Pat....what a brave man he is! I also enjoy doing a spot of adult colouring, it allows you to chill and takes your mind off of things. I was given a beautiful new book to colour for xmas.
Panda....how did you do that! you are going to feel shattered later.
Hosta ,I think that you and hubs will need a scarf , hat and maybe even a pair of ear mufflers after having your pre hols hair spruce ups!
He's home now, and I've got dinner almost ready, so a more relaxed evening, I hope. It was a grass fire that they think was started by a thrown cigarette. Bah! irresponsible people. There were fire fighters from at least 3 different brigades around the region. So thoughtless.
yes Flowers, I got a new colouring book as well. I'm enjoying the doodling. The new colours are very smooth.
My sister worked for Windsor and Newton for 23 years before they moved to France ( them ,not her).. She used to give me most wonderful freeby stuff. Trial lines they'd discontinued etc
The carelessness of some folk ,esp when lives are endangered makes my blood boil!!! Well done your hubs and pals.....he has earned a beer or three, cheers to all emergency responders , they are all true heroes of the day .
Just want to say first of all thank you so much for kind words of encouragement, such a boost just when I needed it. And you are all really too kind, I am certainly not any kind of superwoman, I just hate sitting still.
Finally got to join my friends last night, the guests have a baby and apparently they had to keep stopping to attend to it's various needs, they were very apologetic about being late and seem very nice so I have forgiven them.
Had a nice chat with friends, some I know well, the others I met at a the same house this time last year and haven't seen them since, however, we did promise not to leave it a year until next time we meet, the lady swims regularly at our local pool so I said I might try a join her sometimes, thought it might be good for my back.
Feeling much better all round today and the sun is shining even though it is a bit chilly, watching the weather reports fort he UK is very worrying, I hope all of you are safe and dry. Thought the idea of people looting evacuated homes just despicable, can't believe people would stoop so low.
Hope you all have a good day, lots of different things going on for you all, enjoy as best you can.
