Hi everyone. A vey wild and windy night in Sheffield. A hailstorm bashing against the window woke me, but being a bit disorientated, I thought we were being burgled, so I had to get up, go outside and have a prowl around. Unfortunately never got back to sleep.

    Glad everyone is safe.

Big rugby match today, always trouble in our house as OH is a Scot.

Sunny at the moment so shall have a wander round the garden and then have a sleep.

Morning pd. Have a nice restful day. Lousy when you get a bad night like that. Don't be giving mrs pd a hard time today or I may need to have words.... image

Blackbirds are fighting over the apples today. Really pleased that they're coming into the garden so much. Never came in last year when I moved in. Just shows how putting food out gets them visiting regularly.

morning all, just starting to come out of hibernation. my garden looks a mess and it doesn't look like a day for gardening. I'm now quite busy these days with a job at a local college. I can't promise to be in often but I will keep dropping by from time to time.

Hi blackest - thought you'd abandoned us totally! Was worried something had happened to you. Are you keeping well?

  • Hello Blackest image  Good to see you and know that you're ok image

Well, I'm back online - so far so good ............... A very nice man at Virgin said they were aware of a slow service which was going to be fixed by the 12th !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - I said it wasn't slow, it was stone dead - he ran some tests and agreed with me and said he would escalate it to Urgent but ............ so I popped down to Waitrose to get some bits and pieces. On the way I passed a Virgin van outside a house so on the way back I stopped and spoke to the engineer who was doing stuff in the roadside cabinet - I asked if he was repairing our broadband? He said no, he was doing an installation and the customer wasn't very pleased as he couldn't get online - the engineer had been there since first thing this morning and he wasn't very pleased either as he was having to deal with the disappointed customer's complaints - he was about to bend someone at Virgin's ears severely!!!

    Now we have Broadband .....................

I see the spammers are out again today, and a few other 'fans' of the forum. Such is life image

I do feel sorry fro these engineers Dove. They're at the sharp end all the time. Felt like that the other night when the men were out in that horrendous weather fixing power lines. Wouldn't want their job at any price.image

Should really do the ironing, get some lunch and head out to spend some money at the nursery. I promise to be well behaved...image

Punk I damn near lept out of bed when the hail started it gave me such a fright! I've been pottering around the garden since 07:30, come in for a lay down to rest my back but hoping to install the pond this afternoon - the water is FREEZING cold so I really hope it wont take too much adjusting.

Keep safe in those winds. I'm listening out for my neighbours huge green truck as I noticed a roof window in his garage has been smashed. I just its not leaked too much image

Not at all punk.....we nearly had a party!! We are upset about Koko (Karl Oyston's) and his total lack of investment in the club.

Who is the WUM now? Not the god botherer from the beginning of this thread again I hope? I've seen the spam posts, why can't the web admin just delete them all and block them?
