There is so much going on at the moment it is impossible to keep up with everyone. Not seen Panda around today - hope she didn't overdo it last nightimage.  Was wondering if her back was getting better.  Got the place to myself this afternoon so one more dog walk then I can mess about for a few hours.  Bliss.

Hi all. Just in for a spot of lunch and to cool down, its reet hot in my adopted S. Yorks today { I am rally Cornish but dont tell anyone } I have been here 22 years, but that still makes me a tourist!

Lots done, but the more I do the more I find needs doing, its always the same at this time of year.

Off to do a Verdun, dont like where the Cannas are, so need to move them. Luckily they are still in pots.

Enjoy the rest of your day everyone.

Dahlias are very small this year, not ready to  come out of greenhouse.

How can you lie there and think of England
When you don't even know who's in the team

Hi punkdoc - I was planning to do a Verdun too.  Small azaleas are getting swamped by huge growth of neighbouring plants but now it's started rainingimage  Still we had two good days in a row!  Raincoat for the dog walk now.

Persisting down now so came in for some lunch.

I thought Verd was the Duke of Gloucester...image

Bark applied along outside of boundary but a bit still to do. Should be a quick job in theory, but I've laid a membrane which needed fixing down and then netting over it to stop it spilling onto the pavement so rather slower than I would have liked. It means it will be nice and tidy to let all the hedging grow away. Started making my trough/container thingies for the back fence for the green wall effect but rain stopped play with the painting image

I agree doc - always something needing doing, but when it's light at night it helps. I have two Phormiums which need splitting and I'm putting it off because I know they won't want to come out their pots image

Off to see what you're all doing and then going for more compost to pot up stuff image

    Hi all image

Following a late start image have been puttering in the garden image

Need to 'man up' and finish the bed I did some work on yesterday. Back is feeling better by the way image Once done will plant some bits in the freshly weeded places!

Panda I missed what it was  you did to your back although I know it's been jiggered. Just be careful - backs are tricky when they're not right. A freshly weeded spot is cheering isn't it? I don't have too many because I like plenty of ground cover but newly planted areas have quite a bit of space round them so they're well mulched to save me time. image

Hi Panda, wondered where you were and glad your back is feeling better.  Do't overdo it though - you should have seen me trying to get socks on this morningimage

Fairy, we are going to put more bark down when we've finished sorting out the path at the bottom of the garden.  Trouble is that it floods with heavy rain and the bark gets washed into the beds.  The netting sounds a great idea.  Is it like pea netting or something else?

B***** weather. New plants will be happy thoughimage

It's the stuff you use for your fruit - raspberries/ strawbs etc Lesley. My GC sells it on a roll at £2 a metre- it's a couple of metres wide. I've used it for loads of things! The holes are about 1cm/half an inch and I just peg it down with those plastic pegs or bent wire to keep it in place. I'll  get a pic for you if I can to give you the gist. image

Cheers Fairy, I think I know the type you mean and will add it to the list of what to get, when to get and what to do.  If pic doesn't work I'll just ask at the GC.

As for Panda's back - she'll have to tell you what she didimage

Not sure I want to know - I've warned her before about swinging from those chandeliers...image
