Congrats and Commiserations to all exam folk, I remember it well. Only A levels, Uni applications, job interviews to go.

Haven't set foot in the garden since grandaughter came to stay.  Mommy is picking her up this afternoon so back to normal for a few days.  She wasn't keen on sleeping last night (teething) so we were playing and singing between 2 and 4 a.m. and up for good at around 6.00 a.m. so an early night and/or a lie in tomorrow will definitely be needed.

Secondborn returns from Indonesia tomorrow morning after a fab holiday, will be glad to get her back.

Can everyone please keep their fingers crossed re the volvano in iceland.  If we have an ash cloud and hubby can't go on his holiday I will go into hiding as I dont think I could stand the fallout.

Bekkie only you could be talking about bikkies in the latest mag.  It really made me laugh.

Will try and catch up later if I don't fall asleep.

Verdun - I think I would go with a Hebe most of them are good for foliage and flower to and are evergreen and low maintenance

    Congrats to exam takers image

Verdun I'd say Choisya maybe Sundance for colour but aztec pearl for perfume image Not great flowers but lovely if you look closely at them.

Yvie I have crossed my fingers.image

Been pulling out ivy from an overgrown bed for 3 1/2 hours, hands now numb. image That might be the cold, only 12c here and no sun. Verdun take pity on little KEF and send her some sunshine image

Meant to say yesterday that I've already saved seeds from my outdoor toms called "Dave" image just as well looking at how miserable they are currently looking.

Clari if you are looking in don't forget to save some.

Hi all!  Escaped from DIY (been building IKEA day bed with OH) but now it's raining image so I can't do any gardening at present.  Managing to defer being domestic for a bit by catching up on here image

Congrats to Woody on his beautiful terrace!  Love those alpine troughs...  image

Panda, your arch looks really sturdy.  You can't beat a birthday present made with love, specially for you...  image  Hopefully there won't be too many flying fence panels this winter!  Looking forward to seeing your tree too.  image

Verdun, it's really hard to choose just one plant with year-round interest for a tub - I reckon pieris is a pretty good choice though.  Tub might need to be quite big though, even for 'Little Heath'.  Would personally not choose a rhododendron because their season of interest is so limited.  Once saw a stunning container containing just a really well-grown Prunus 'Kojo-no-Mai', underplanted with small spring bulbs.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

KEF - I have them drying on some kitchen paper as we speak.

Just been to Barnsley where a wonderful company have gifted me some fire uniforms for the museum. Alas they don't come with fire men!
