I've had a quick look outside and a terracotta pot (with a mature palm in it) that is 2' high x 18" across filled with John Innes 3 and pebbles on the top has been blown sideways off the 3 bricks it was standing on thankfully it is now leaning on the wall and steps and not in pieces on the patio.
Morning all. Winds now howling here too. Off for a haircut, then time to pack all the christmas decs into their boxes - currently they are in a large heap on the table ...thats what happens when twelfth night falls on a workday. Maybe some gardening tomorrow
Good morning, everyone! The winds hit here a little bit last night- but like I said before, I think we're very sheltered from the buildings here. It's raining a lot though.
Off to BnQ today to get a studfinder- OH won't put anything up on the walls without a studfinder. He's helping with a kid's kung fu class today and he's not the paternal type at all. This should be interesting!
Morning all, seriously windy here. Woke up in middle of the night to an almighty crash, thought oh NO what has gone.
Got up, got head torch and wandered around outside. Nothing seemed to be damaged, except a few pots broken. Some where a tree must have come down, but I can' see where.
Several roads in Sheffield closed, because of the fallen trees.
Off to buy some seed compost, so after the holiday I can start sowing.
Stay safe everyone.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Morning all. OH repairing yet another fence panel. And I thought all That wind was just verd.... Ok ok not been around often enough for that kind of talk...I'll get my coat. The last panel that came down I had started growing climbers on to try and strengthen or buffer against the wind. They were ripped off, not sure if due to wind damage or repair / replacement process. Winter jasmine also stripped.bare when we had Somme windows done, so no pretty yellow stars on my wall either. Please insert smileys as appropriate.
clary I didn't see the article, was it in the star?
Lily, sorry to hear you are injured.
p doc. Sorry to hear your constant problems with garden weatheer but keep enjoying where you are, sounds a fab spot.
Back to the fence, we have about 20. Panels. Keep trying to persuade OH to get ones with gaps so they are more wind friendly.0r try climbers again. Might start new thread for advice if ever I get more time!
jeepers, gotta sign in now to post, different phone but that's another story...
Only woke up about 20mins ago. Sure nothing broken, just very achy. Right shoulder, arm and hand hurt, but sure its just jarring where I tried to stop smashing my face on the pavement. Thumb I think sprained but otherwise ok. Thank you all so much, very kind. Did feel a bit of a **** when I did it, 2 very nice girls picked me up too bless them.
Chicky hugs hope you're ok, shakes you up seeing things like that, doesn't it.
Hope everyone ok re wind
Have a good day everyone, see you later, off for another soak.
