Just popped in and haven't read back everything so forgive me if I've missed something important.
Dove, thanks for the good wishes , Guest wanted to go to Port Isaac, but none of our knees were up to it. Save that one for another visit.
Jo and Fairygirl. I've done a Dove, Had both envelopes in the car all day and ended up bringing them home.
They're on their way there, honest ( see what I did there? )
Had a lovely drive along the cornish coast stopping at a few places , ending up at Trebarwith Strand where they've closed the car park next to our fave pub Port William, because of cliff erosion.
Morning everyone. Lovely cool morning here so far but it's only 7.50 so it's a bit early to tell. I love the photos from your walk Fairy. You and Jo are so energetic! I wonder if Hubby and I should try to get walking about more.
Still haven't heard how DDs OH was last night. They say no news is good news, though.
Ive been looking at the tomato plants that I've got in pots on the eastern verandah and wondering if I'm game (or foolhardy) enough to plant them out in the veggie garden yet. I don't usually put them out until Melbourne Cup weekend, but hey whats a couple of weeks. I'll probably do it now that the thought is in my mind. I've got plastic tubes that I can put around them in case the weather turns cold again. The chard, kale and broccolini are still providing lots of food for us so I'm a bit restricted for space, but I'm sure I'll squeeze tomatoes in somewhere.
Yesterday was a bit strange. While we are not actively grieving for our daughter anymore, I woke at 6am for HRH to go out for her morning wee, and then looked at the clock and thought, it was this time when Sudan's husband rang to say that she had gone. We were up and getting ready to go up to visit her in hospital when the call came. It is a 12 hour drive up to Armidale, so we were packing for a prolonged visit. It was a strange day for all of us then. And it was strange to lie here and remember it all again yesterday. All good now though.
Thanks Gertie and Jo. I didn't mean to start off a sorrowful day by writing about Susan. I was just musing and remembering. 6 years is a good space to let the hurt dissipate.
My greatest pleasure is veggie and herb growing and knowing that my food is clean and healthy, so I probably go on about it too much. I usually get so many tomatoes that the drying machine gets a real work out. ( parsley and chives as well get dried). It's easier to keep jars in the cupboard than in the freezer which is always full, anyway.
it must be time for you all to get some sleep now.
Gertie, I know what you mean about feeding the birds. We were getting lots of little birds around the feeder, then the kookaburras (a pair) arrived and since then we haven't seen the little ones. Blue wrens, various finches, white eared honey eaters, etc. ( my bird book says that the white eared honey eaters are misnamed - they are insect eaters), but they are welcome here whatever they eat.
Hi Punkdoc. Thanks for kind thoughts. Thats the trouble when you've been lazing around all day, isn't it. I have been doing a lot of that lately, but am determined to get active. Hope you can sleep soon. Perhaps the malt might help. Pity I can't have some too. Woudn't go well at 10.30am, I don't think.

Hope OH is improving DD.

Susan, not Sudan.

Thanks Hosta.

Evening all.
Great day doing nothing, except sports watching, lying on the sofa, drinking London Pride bitter.
No time to think about my b#####d neighbours.
Dis spend a while in the garden, watching a flock of Redwings demolishing berries on the Yew trees.
Love to you Pat, hope you reminisce happily.
Hoping for good news from DD.
Not in the mood for bed, so maybe time for the single malt to come out, anyone care to join me?
