DD we have a family situation my mum doesn't know that my bro's wife and bro's twin sister have fallen out big fashion so when she thinks it would be nice for them to all come on the same day me & youngest sister have to tell porkies about them doing other things
DD - don't feel you're being silly. It's a very demoralising and wearing situation, and the reason it bothers you is because you care. That says a lot about you
No jo - nothing of any substance to go up nearby. Bridge of Orchy's about an hour and a half's drive away - just before you get to Glencoe. Slightly longer today - it's a working day for many so a bit more traffic too. Perhaps after the stormy weather predicted for the next day or two it'll be a bit better
Crocus are all poking their heads up here W'song. I pruned a clematis back a little recently - like yours, loads of buds on it.
He must be in labour by now KEF...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Thoughts are with all of you with 'difficult' family situations. We have a similar thing but I've more or less stopped thinking about it. Only rears it's ugly head at Christmas and when there is a problem in the family and we have to remember who is talking to who and who is grown up enough to put their own feelings to one side and muck in for the good of others.
Some people, however, refuse to act their shoe size (let alone their age) and I just try to have as little to do with them as possible - not nice - but, then, neither is what they are doing...
On a cheerier note - lovely to see a dipper P'doc - never see them around here. Yesterday we had a barn owl on our garden fence - hear them most nights but had never seen one before at this property. Makes me more determined to ask our neighbour if we can put an owl box up in one of the very large / mature trees on her land at the back of our garden. Beautiful creatures.
Now feel as though I have been chained to the kitchen stove for the last week. First getting ready for visitors, then entertaining them and now dealing with the leftovers.
Have just made nearly 4 litres of turkey & veg broth (that's 6 of those supermarket fresh soup containers), about 10 portions of turkey curry and bacon & mushroom in herby tomato sauce to have with pasta tonight.
OH goes back to work tomorrow & will be away for a couple of nights. I shall be dining on grapes, celery, cheese and Celebrations for the duration - and maybe some turkey broth...
Definitely no cooking....
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
For anyone interested in Dippers - the Loch Lomond programme is currently being repeated on Channel 5 - ( four episodes - second one tonight around 6 pm) It follows a year in the National Park - one episode per season - and there's a little family of dippers which were one of the main attractions
Soup on here too T'bird. I can't survive without my homemade soup - almost every day

Hope Hosta is well enough to fly - sounds like he's had a bad dose of the lurgy.
Ah well! he'll be able to share it with everyone on his flight - all that lovely recirculated air and germs (hope OH isn't on it - don't need him bringing that home!!)
