DD, I can't imagine how you can knit with your bandaged hand. I sympathise with being fed up, I've nearly gone crazy being sick and in the house. The TV is a trap. Nothing seems to lift your spirit. Hope you can get your hand back to normal soon.image

Hello Topbird. Will do. Is she on the south side or the north?  Our daughter is on the south side.(closer to us) . We did buy a little two burner gas camping stove because we went through a period of power outages a couple of years ago, but haven't needed to use it yet.  It's just a nuisance having to get it out and set up, and the thing I'll miss most of all is the TV and Internet.  We are expecting 28c tomorrow, so it'll be good to be in thevairconditioned vehicle and our daughters unit Which is always comfortable.

Good morning all image and G'day Pat image

Being a country girl I was used to occasional power outages in bad weather, and they sometimes occurred when we lived in the city centre too, but since we've lived here we've not experienced one at all (fingers crossed).  I wonder if things are better maintained because we're near to the big hospital or is it just good luck image

It's raining here this morning - I wasn't expecting that - I thought they'd been telling us we're in the middle of a dry spell, or have I mis-remembered image  I've just checked the forecast and the fine weekend I was expecting seems to have disappeared too image

Re Pat's camping stoves - I remember during the power cuts in the seventies, my Mum heated tins of beans and sausages for our tea on one of them! image

Good morning Dove and Winter, afternoon Patimage

Great to see you again Winter and congratulations on passing your testimage.  Imagine, no more backpacking to the GCimage.

Pat it's a good idea to get away for the day tomorrow.  It's amazing how we rely so much on electricity - even the shops can't cope if they can't use their tills.  We don't get many power cuts now (fingers crossed) but at least we have a gas hob.

    Lovely pics Fairyimage

    Have a good day allimage
