  • Better late than never but I hope you all had a good day yesterday and that no one was flooded.

I did read back a bit and saw the word 'chiropracter', this is a word that makes me shiver as their 'society' (as if they actually have real qualifications) lost a court case when asked to prove that they weren't quacks and charlatans...

My French GP is also a trained chiropractor. He did wonders for my back when I wrenched it.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • There are qualified Doctors who actually think homeopathy does something too... Chiropracters are at best masseurs, at worst, damaging.

We've been for a long drive today, to give us a break from being in the house, so now I'm worn out. It's hard work sitting in the passenger seat.  Our drive (all on back roads) was north to Braidwood, west to Bungendore and then south to home.  I was shown where the German tourists went off the road a couple of weeks ago. We were planning on visiting the museum in Braidwood, where some of my paternal grandfathers photos are on display (from late 1800s early 1900s, but they were closed. My father was born there.image

ps. I really rely on our Chiropractor when I have a back problem and he does fix it. I think it all depends on the particular practitioner and also the problem.image

My thoughts and warm wishes go out to all who have troubles and worries  ((hugs))

I have been so fortunate with my back - when in my late 20s I first appeared to be developing 'the family back' responsible for many operations and incapacity in my family, my GP got me  an appointment with Gregory Grieve, a manipulative physiotherapist, who had recently moved into the neighbouring small town.  My GP said that he had an amazing reputation and that he was thrilled he'd moved into our area.  A course of treatment with him, including instruction on what to do at the first sign of trouble, and another course a few years later, and my back has been virtually trouble free ever since - it wasn't until his death that I realised just how lucky I was that my GP knew of him and got me the appointment http://www.bodyworkmovementtherapies.com/article/S1360-8592(02)90296-2/pdf .

It's only when I've disregarded his instructions that I've had twinges and even then, following the advice he gave years ago has sorted things out.

If you have a back problem I'd recommend seeking out a qualified Manipulative Physiotherapist.

Morning all. Tipping it down here too and has been most of the night.

Head still full of sn*t. I've had 4 hours sleep and only had 5 the night before. I'm beyond exhausted.

I too saw the floods on TV last night, how tagic and helpless they must feel.

Morning all/afties Pat  image It is tiring being in the car all day - especially as a passenger.

It's still very dark outside but it's supposed to be a half decent day so I'm off to the Rest and be Thankful to have a jaunt up Ben Donich which I did a month or two ago. Nice walk and not too difficult so ideal for my post Christmas body image

Sorry to hear your news LP. Still difficult even when it's someone older.

Hope the rain eases off jo - and for everyone else. Not seen the news today yet so not sure what it's like in the north west re the flooding. Surely the rain has to  stop at some point before they need an ark. It's just about at that point already  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I haven't seen the evening news - been watching Monti and Nigel doing various late winter jobs , Carol helping a couple with a new garden, and someone  growing buddlias. Then Home or away looking at North Cornwall and s.e. France  Jasmine and Laura.  image
