Morning all/afties Pat. I was watching the coverage of the fires on the BBC news earlier this morning as I was awake for a while. It seems really desperate now Pat. They were saying there was a lot of tourists caught up in it too because the coast road is such a popular destination. They're also saying that arsonists have been the cause of some of the fires. What is wrong with these people? Huge contrast with the opposite weather in western parts of Britain. Lancashire now has flood warnings too. It's good to see you're ok little-ann, but heartbreaking to see the state of the Lake District, and the devastation to residents.
Your dinner looked lovely Panda - hope it was tasty too
Hope everyone has a good day whatever they're up to. Boxing Day sales W'song.... I'd rather eat my own hair
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Hello DD, Fairygirl and SG Lily. Yes the fires are heartbreaking for those affected. As I'm sure the floods are over there. Sad at this time of year as well when people want to relax and enjoy the season. I think these fires were lightning started, but you do get the idiots as well.
I think you should have some more lazy days DD, sounds as though that's what your back needs. Is it very low back pain? With sciatica it's more common to have pain in your buttock and leg.
I have to prepare bedrooms for my children. All 4 coming, with spouses and 9 children on the 29th when we are having a second Christmas! Must wrap their presents too.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Ding ding. Round three. The big family gathering takes place today. The trifle is ready, just needs a cherry on top.
I am ignoring the sales. The only thing hubby wants is a new ipad, keyboard and pen , and they wont be reduced anyway.
Best wishes to all those suffering in the North. Will someone please turn the tap off now.
I hope mr and mrs punkdoc have a brighter new year and a holiday in the sunshine helps.
My friends lad lost 14kg in the last five weeks in Australia. Tests here indicate he has had glandular fever, not dengue fever. Thats what you get from kissing swedish girls on Bondi beach. He is practically being force fed at the moment by his loving mum.
I hope anyone unwell feels better soon. Have a good day folks.
OH offered to take me to the shops in Limoges today, I declined. He only wanted to "just look" anyway, can't think of anything worse.
I am dusting and polishing and stem cleaning the floors, worried about this guest with her cat allergy - and it does need a good doing anyway.
It's my lower back that hurts but the twinges (extremely painful) shoot down my right side, right down my leg, knees gave way a couple of times with the pain, much better today, seems if I keep moving it is better, sitting is awful lying or standing bearable. Definitely getting better.
My Tranquillity rose didn't materialise, despite marking the DA catalogue and leaving the 20% off voucher of his desk, but the step counter is good, I did originally suggest it for him (with his need to exercise) but he totally misconstrued my meaning and bought it for me.
Best wishes to Punkdoc and OH and I do hope your friend's son gets better soon Fidget, thats a lot of weight to lose.
Good luck with your housework BL, I hope they spoil you when they all get there and give you some time with your feet up.

Snap Fidget. 8 arriving (plus 2woofers) to add to the 6 here already. Place is hoovered, bubble and squeak prepared, wine ready to be mulled.....at least some of my puddings might get eaten. Unlike other parts of the country, it has stopped raining here, so hoping that a boxing day tramp through the mud will be possible.
