I'm taking loadsa caffeine on board prior to setting off to move Wonky - the car is loaded with cardboard boxes so hopefully they'll help. The stuff just has to be moved down two flights of stairs, out the front door and round to the back door, so as the weather is forecast to stay dry that shouldn't be too bad. Her brother isn't working today so he's going to pop round and help for a while too.

Clari, you could loan us the children - they could form a chain and pass furniture from one to the other down the stairs and round to the back door - I could just stand there and crack a whip .................... whaddayamean didn't I used to work for Social Services???

Pdoc, I sympathize, re neighbours I can say for sure that I'm glad I rent! Having had 2 high prostitutes climb over our roof 3 floors up to knock on the window to say 'high' as they were our new neighbours....I don't feel secure in investing in the area even if I could afford to! Good luck with yours!....let us know if you need back up!

Fairy- I hope you can walk because for various reasons I can't run. I'll also be pushing a stretcher so at least the downhill will be easier
All for a good cause though we'll be raising enough money to put a defib on the outside of the building so anyone can use it if they need too.
I hope Wonkys move goes well! I'd come and help but I've 60 children in today.
