If Christmas presents are opened before The Day they turn into pumpkins - well that's what I've told my niece who's parcel arrived at her house today. You and she will just have to be patient Hosta

Glad you've got chicklet back chicky. I can sympathise with the effort of driving though. WhenI fall asleep after a long drive I very often dream that I'm still on the motorway. I just nipped into the GC and a few families were choosing their Christmas trees. I needed more fairy lights as a set had failed but went for overkill (as usual) and ended up with a set of 480.
LilyP enjoy your meal out tonight. Good luck with the scan tomorrow.
Back on here briefly while OH is out conducting a concert. He's been involved in a mammoth music-writing project on this laptop so I haven't dared disturb him... but rumour still has it that I'll be getting a tablet or something for Christmas
No tree up here, yet. But I have bought a much-needed new set of lights, in honour of 21-month-old granddaughter, who apparently thinks lights are Wonderful. (She points at them and says WOW!) However, I have made sausage rolls (Delia Smith's quick flaky pastry is yummy, especially made with butter - a Christmas special, I hasten to add! ) And mince pies.
The flood warning siren has just gone off in the town. Will it ever stop raining? People round here are very stoical - I suppose there's no alternative if your property regularly floods. I'm just thankful we chose a house 50ft above the river. (It's still tricky for insurance though. They want to know if the house is less than 400m from a river bank. Surely most people's houses are? Ours certainly is, though it's never going to flood because of the height difference.)
Right. Time to draw the curtains and put the kettle on...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
