I love the film Camelot, watched it again recently from a TV recording earlier this year. Half way through it switched to "Escape to the Country" because wretched OH had put it on the planner!
DD, I never know what to get men. Enjoy the theatre tonight.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
The wind's got up here Fg, and it's feeling colder than of late ... I shall go and check the temp .............. 9C, but it feels half that Brrrrrrrrrrr! I've put the heating on.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I remember the complete freeze in 1963 when we walked out onto the ice. Some local lads drove a Mini over the ice to Inchmurrin so I expect the wallabies were able to escape quite easily. Especially if they remembered to bring their skates.
The house is still full of post holiday mess. Laundry everywhere. I've no idea how we manage to produce so much washing after a beach holiday.
My kids' Uncle once went on holiday wearing a pair of shorts and a t shirt. He swam in them during the day, so he said that " washed them" then wore them out at night, for 2 weeks!!! Rank.
Hosta how lovely to have sun to look forward to again The price of a good holiday is the laundry pile ! I never iron it until it comes out to be packed the next time.
DD for the first time ever (44 years) we have no gifts for each other. I have concentrated on the family as we will have to take everything with us. What about a lovely bottle you can enjoy together?
steephill that was very interesting I enjoyed the photos thanks for posting

OH has a birthday on the 19th - he wants paint. For Christmas he wants some jeans that we will buy together after Christmas when he has time to go shopping. Just as well I've got a box of something alcofrolic wrapped up and hidden away isn't it?
Shhhhhh!

What makes it unusual for Lomond to ice over is the size of it, and the fact that it's so far south in terms of lochs. That was a particularly fierce winter in terms of snow and temps. A frozen loch is a delight though. I took this about 5 or 6 years ago -looking south at Loch Callater, just north of Glenshee. The hill at the far end is the Munro, Tolmount, and the Lochnagar hills are all just out of view on the left.
Dove - re paint - is OH doing you a nice pic for Christmas, or is he doing a ceiling?
Hosta - uncle -
BL - you'd be as well moving here!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Heating has been on for some time here, was -5° again yesterday. Warm this morning +3° at 8.30am!
Loch Lomond has frozen a few times since the '20s - some great photos here http://davidrmitchell.photoshelter.com/gallery/Loch-Lomond-iced-over/G0000bY.qnV3sZc4/
