Dove, I tried that yesterday and was told a return call would be organised.

The thing that makes me so mad, easy jet want to charge us £50 to change our booking, even though we're doing it online, so absolutely zero input / cost to them. I want someone to give me a reason why they want £50 from me, for work I've done, not them.

    Devon.
  • Pat, I remember being taken by my granny to see Camelot in the mid 60s when I was in my early teens - I fell desperately in love with Laurence Harvey image

You have a very good point Hosta - perhaps we should all start invoicing companies when we do the work online image

Yes, not bad was he.  Funnily though it's the music that I remember with lots of those shows rather than the actors.  There's lots of Sound of Music being played around lately to commemorate the anniversary.

im getting ready for sleep now, so will catch up tomorrow.image

  • Hello all,

Quick pop in over lunch, been to the market and hairdresser today, theatre evening tonight, only a amateur production but they are doing a 3 course dinner first and I know some of the cast and they have put in hours and hours of rehearsal so I hope it goes well for them. image

Walked all around the town looking for inspiration for a little gift (any gift actually) for OH, couldn't find a thing. He has no hobbies, doesn't take any care over what he wears and if there is anything he needs he just buys it from Amazon, I am well and truly stumped. For the last 5 years or more I have bought him a Weirdfish jumper which he loves (birthdays as well), so now he has every colour and style in the range, I just can't bring myself to get him another one. image I did think of a diet and exercise book or gadget, but don't think that will go down very well. image

Hope you are all well, I have been practising for my race all week but the coach has told me to rest today, not very good at resting so i*****g and h*******k for me this afternoon. Have to try and turn my Red Devil cape into a Mrs Santa skirt too and sewing is not my thing either. image

Will pop in later, hope you get your hols sorted Hosta. image

Re: Loch Lomond wildlife  Back in the '70s there used to be a bear park near Balloch on the banks of Loch Lomond whose inhabitants regularly escaped ( a large tree overhung the fence!) and went for a wander in the village. I was walking past a local restaurant when I saw what I thought was their big Newfoundland dog in the back garden. Then I thought "that dog is getting very big" before having a Holy S***! moment. Thankfully they were fairly gentle creatures and no-one ever got hurt that I can recall.

The wallabies are even older though having been introduced back in the '20s. The local police were fed up with motorists calling up to say "you'll think I've been drinking but I haven't and I just saw a wallaby!".

steephill - you're right - they were introduced back in the twenties by the landowner. It's a wonder there are any left because they must all be inbreeding like mad!  I've heard that they reckon some of them have made a bid for freedom by swimming to the shore but I've never seen any on my travels!

I must ask my BIL about the bears - he's from Balloch. Great story! image

Pretty cold today - 2 degrees when I went to work and more sleet and hail, though not the thunder and torrential hail and sleet we had last night. Winter draw(er)s on image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
