We had our evening meal outside in a thunderstorm. OH has roofed the place we sit on the terrace. But the wind did get a bit scarey and tried to blow our wineglasses away.

I saw that link to Monty Don talking about English gardeners. I think a lot of the reason why the English are the best gardeners is because the English weather is right for gardens. Here in SW France heat, drought and extreme winter cold and wet make gardening very difficult.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Sitting outside but shielded in a thunderstorm sounds nice B-L.

I am not genetically designed for direct sunshine so that very much appeals!
