  • Aye Runny i know, its terrible. Watched the "Nightmare Neighbour Nxt Door last night" and was a fella with similiar tendencies...was threatening his new neighbours and son for, i think 5/6 years...(why is nothing done sooner, i ask). Turns out he was put into Broadmoor for shooting 8 people, killing 5 and then let out to do the same thing Years later....image Found guns and bombs etc in his house that he was planning on using on new neighbours (well not new after 5/6 yeaars) but 4 feck sake!

    Sorry no emotions.

Rb, my apologies image  you're absolutely right - the incident I'd remembered hearing about and looked up is historical - there was indeed another incident on 29th August image

When I took the dog out this afternoon there was a lad walking towards us. (About 14).  I recognised him as someone I'd seen on his way to school and he always makes a fuss of Jekka.  He turned round and walked with us and when I asked why he wasn't at school he said he'd been excluded.  Why?  For swearing at the Head. Why?  "He told me off"image.  I asked if he was waiting for his pals to finish school and he said he was on his way to meet one, also excluded for having a knife in his bag.

He seemed quite, I wouldn't say proud, more matter of fact about it.  His father would like him to go into the army as he'd been in  and there was a good pensionimage.  People need a bit of nurturing but don't always get it.

I'd lay a bet that this lad wouldn't deliberately hurt an animal but if push comes to shove he'd let frustrations outimage.  I still think there's good in himimage.

    Thanks Rb image

Can't go with vigilante system - how is that different to the kneecappings, beatings and 'disappearances' that have happened for so long in Northern Ireland?

  • I'm pooped. Garage is cleared ready for the conversion to start tomorrow, or Wednesday depending if they finished their other gig on time!

Totally agree Dove - our system may not be perfect, but it is one I am comfortable withimage

For any of you that a) like Alan Titichmarsh and b) live within striking distance of an evening in London .....he is giving the first annual lecture for the NGS on 27th October.  I've just bought a ticket (see NGS website /lecture) so there are definitely some still availableimage

  • Originally we wanted to go for a sex dungeon but have you seen the cost of rubber these days? image

So, rather more conventionally we are making it into another small sitting room and my study will move downstairs from the small bedroom (around 10 x 10) and himself is getting that sorted out as a dressing room. This does mean that I will actually have some wardrobe space!
