  • We also have sparrowhawks and occasionally I pop outside to discover a scene of carnage. I don't mind them helping themselves to the pigeons! Bloody things treat my pergola like a knocking shop so there are always plenty around.

A few feet behind the feeder and in the flight path they seem to like to use to grab said pigeons is an increasingly tall magnolia so that will interrupt the hawk's fun I think over the next year or two!

A year or two back there was a sparrowhawk inside the greenhouse!  Must have gone in there after mice or voles

Just been up to the shops for Mum.  Persisting down out there, and no jobs to do inside here.  Might go and remove tomato leaves on the balcony later if it clears up a bit, otherwise feet up and telly day.

Hope everyone else is having a good day, especially those who, as Hosta put it, are having it off.  image

Doner update, it was chicken on  a stick.

OH is blitzing passata as we speak before heading "up country" or to put it another way, Sit on the A303 for hours trying to get past Stonehenge.

It's our friend's birthday so they're having Chinese when OH arrives.

    Devon.

I like a lamb shish kebab - can't persuade OH that there's any way a doner is a safe thing to eat - he says they look like an old lady's leg revolving in front of a fire!!!

Re Peregrines - the Norwich Cathedral peregrines are on a web-cam every year - this year there's an 'edited highlights' version - if you have fifteen minutes to spare this is wonderful viewing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBhDApoK7BA&feature=youtu.be

Drizzle and dampness here in Ipswich, not very appealing according to Harrie the cat who is soundo on the kitchen windowsill. SIL shows away tomorrow for a month to start moving abroad and we get keys to downstairs flat to start basement work....fitting window back in...adding airbricks....and de-spidering!!!!! Think we will be moving around end of October, early November.

Hope everyone has a lovely day! X image
