    Love the bird feeder Steveimage

Chicky we'll send you lots of hugs on the 20th.

Thanks for all the entertaining posts from yesterday, I've been reading back and I've let my tea go cold.

  • As ever I'm behind on this thread. That bird feeder is really elegant Steve.  Can I ask where you got it?

  • Commissioned from a local blacksmith. Handmade and powder coated for just over a hundred quid. It has a base plate too so that it isn't just a pole hammered into the ground. I considered postcrete but in my fairly heavy soil, it is rock solid with about 18" buried.

Well, because car is a convertible the windscreen has to be replaced with the top down - although AA man has an awning the wind is getting up and he's worried that he wouldn't be able to secure the awning without parking his van on my lawn!!!  Well, the lawn is in pretty poor condition, what with the drought and the yarrow, but it is not for parking on.

We decided on a compromise - he did a repair and if the garage I'm taking it to tomorrow to get the suspension fixed don't think it's satisfactory he'll come back and replace the windscreen.  He's done a very good job.  I think we made the right decision - rain is now tipping down.

Nice young man - telling me all about his new baby boy and the lovely  holiday they had last summer in Cornwall - little boy is just over 3 monthsimage  I wonder if he has Cornish roots??? image
